Its summer time again, so welcome back to Governor's Island! With the approval of the redesign plans for the island, things are starting to happen for the islands long term potential. But in the very short term, there's going to be a lot of demolition. the Motel 8 is one of the first buildings to go.
There is a saying among former island military residents about the hotel. Governor's Island, the nations oldest continuous military installation, may have a lot of cannons...

Soon To Be Demolished
The River Oaks Theater in the River Oaks Shopping Center. A three screen movie theater that is a Houston landmark which is on the verge of being demolished by greedy developers so they can build condos and a parking garage.
