iheartretards: 3rd Mar 2008 - 16:44 GMTPho Viet Anh on lower Queen Anne next to Bamboo Garden and down the block from the Opera house. It's the best Pho in town, I can't even palate nasty Than Brothers anymore. That shit is GROOOOOOSSSS!!! They don't use MSG either if you're concerned about that sort of thing. It's run by a husband and wife team, Husband runs the FOH wife makes all the food, it's amazing too. Usually I just sip the broth and never finish but I always clean my bowl when I go there. Plus in winter they have *spicy* pho. SO GOOOOODDD!! Re: Than Bros being the McDonalds of Pho... seriously, I don't know how people eat that shit. Croquet Metaphor: 3rd Mar 2008 - 16:50 GMTthan brothers makes me want to vomit. pho 900 or any number of places in the ID. I went to one last week on 14th and jackson-I can't remember what it was called, the front was all glass and there was lots of fake bamboo-what was pretty good. Pho Phreak: 3rd Mar 2008 - 16:52 GMT
The place at 14th and Jackson is Pho Bac, I believe. It is, actually, pretty damn good, though I don't go there often, for some reason. Old habits die hard, I guess.
Peter: 3rd Mar 2008 - 17:17 GMTeg: i quite enjoyed the alaskan brews... you dont really see them much (ever? i never had) here in nyc, and i always like trying new brews. i recommend it, and will definitely pick some up the next time i come across it in a local market. jameth: 3rd Mar 2008 - 18:03 GMTViet Nam on Broadway/Stockton in San Francisco. And yeah anything on Jackson in Little Saigon is typically good, especially when you have to have a child translate for you or point at the menu. Pho Cyclo is greasy, overpriced but they have bubble tea. Jess: 3rd Mar 2008 - 19:03 GMTMy favorite pho in seattle is Green Leaf in the International District. I think it's on like 8th and king. It's cheap and tasty! caiyuemei: 3rd Mar 2008 - 20:59 GMTi didn't think than brothers (university branch) was that bad, taste-wise, but their menu is pretty limited (no appetizers, thus no spring rolls :'( ), and if you're eating past nine (or whenever the restaurant closes), sit with your back facing the kitchen, otherwise you'll be staring their impatient asses in the face.
method: 4th Mar 2008 - 14:24 GMTPho Cyclo has terrible service and their Pho is so-so. I would avoid that place like the plague. gomezticator: 4th Mar 2008 - 14:25 GMTThanh Vi in the U District (Ave south of 43rd) has a wide selection of dishes to go with their Pho. Trauma Hound: 4th Mar 2008 - 14:25 GMTThan Bros on 99 by greenlake. Don't pay attention to Jameth. You even get a desert with it.
Lefty: 4th Mar 2008 - 15:16 GMTIn college, I used to eat my hangover pho at Thanh Vi on the Ave. Also where I saw my first cockroach. Don't eat there much anymore. Comment on this article..[previous] :: [next] |
