Banksy Work Painted Over by Islington Council?

author: Jamie : London, UK

This story was assembled from reports in the mainstream media. Mostly newspapers. It has since been found to be entirely factually inaccurate. Soon after ’s latest work appeared on a North street, conscientious workers from Council obliterated it, by whitewashing the offending wall. The 4ft by 4ft stencil, set on a lime green background, depicted two young girls sitting at a desk with a Kalashnikov rifle, playing with bullets rather than pencils. The elusive , with his face hidden, was spotted painting the scene...

The trailer which doubles as a family home for the current owners is due to sell at auction and is estimated to reach £500,000. The two-bedroom, refrigerated trailer was bought 11 years ago for £1,000. And instead of them paying him, he gave them two free festival tickets for providing the canvas. The couple, based in King’s Lynn, , make their...

Banksy Rocks!

author: EvilGentleman : London, UK

I don't know if this article is legit as far as citynoise standards are concerned, but I know of no other way to make sure people see the information here. If Jamie (or anyone else) can be so fortunate as to get photos of this, I recommend the author name of this article be changed, to reflect due credit for their work. I was just going through the latest news on the CBC News website (www.cbc.ca/news/), when I noticed this article about Banksy. www.cbc.ca/story/arts/national/2 . . . arishilton-banksy-cd.html. I have to say, Banksy definitely takes the role of "guerrilla artist"...
