America's Most Boring Towns: 2
[previous] :: [next]
Apparently, these places were vacant because this town is so boring that even its residents don't go out anywhere. This article has been viewed 3749 times in the last 2 years
Susannah : 6th Jul 2006 - 01:06 GMTI'm really curious as to why anyone would go out of his way to be bored, or to share his boredom with anyone else for that matter. Anyway - I looked. Normanite: 15th Jul 2006 - 19:20 GMTThe idea of stopping in a town for a few minutes, taking a few pictures of abandoned buildings, and then declaring the town boring is one of the most pretentious, conceited, obnoxius, unwarranted, and judgmental excercises I can think of. It seems inherently diametric to the purpose of this website and I think only goes to show that Scott Sargent is too boring to undertake the much more difficult task of learning and understanding what is unique and interesting about each of his "boring towns".
John : 15th Jun 2007 - 02:47 GMTI love this site. Really funny, and fun to see all the pictures of these forgotten towns full of people who simply aren't, and if they are, you imagine they must be just shadows or whisps of dusty air. Awesome. I guess, I'm being ironical here. These towns have come full circle to me; they are so damn boring that they just fascinate me so. Michael: 11th Oct 2007 - 13:03 GMTI grew up in Tonkawa and let me tell you it isn't a borening town. Tonkawa is a quiet town yes, but the people of Tonkawa love to get out and go to local events. Tonkawa is big in sports, it has had a champion football team for many years and even has one of the best junior colleges in the country. Tonkawa has a long history and though I moved away many years ago. I still miss it. Comment on this article..[previous] :: [next] |
