Just a word of warning, I've seen cops confiscate cameras of people taking pictures in/on/around path trains. Even had a train delayed to deal with this 'problem'. Oversensitive security in the Age of Terrorism, most likely, BUT... make sure you don't screw all of us commuters in a rush when our train is stopped to let cops come on and take your film because you wanted some pics :/

rail photos like these depict an emptiness in american lives. photo # 2 does this best. it's like the 'specs' billboard in 'the great gatsby'. and we all know how that ends. . .

What you refer to as elizabeth and the seaport is actually Kearny New Jersey which was home to the Federal shipyards in the war years and still is home to railyards.

theyre tearing down pretty much ALL the old graf-covered warehouses in harrison, the ones all around the path station there, and many on towards journal square too. any idea whats up? i mean, i knew they were neglected and many were abandoned/falling-in, but the timing was sort of too co-incidental to be chance...
