Just ever so slightly embarrassed posting these here on this site... ahem. These are completely staged in Brick Lane E1. The toys are made from thrift store yukky toys and taken apart and re-sewn with each other's heads

hahaha! this is great! thats a funny idea... totally unique photos that cracked me up. i love how you put the rhino-headed one over the ecko rhino sticker :)

also: what does the "E1" in brick lane E1 mean? is that like a district of london or something?

elaine: 15th Apr 2005 - 18:15 GMT

Yeah, man, it's a post code. East 1. Did you know where ALL post codes come from? it was during the air raids in WW2 and people were sleeping in this old mine called chislehurst caves in hundreds of bunk beds, and it was the way people found their bunks - check it out on the net, I've been there - it's bloody cold.

Peter: 15th Apr 2005 - 18:18 GMT

cool story... wow, now i gotta go google chislehurst!

Jamie: I collect postcodes

elaine: what? whatna what what? How?

Ben: Great book, Brick Lane.

love these! ever read LIVES OF THE MONSTER DOGS? great book. THIS makes me think of THAT!

elaine: 5th Jun 2005 - 06:51 GMT

thanks! i made these when i had been ill for a few weeks and i couldn't shop for xmas presents, and was bored but not up to much. anyone who came to visit me got one as a present, and these are the ones that are left. i had been making up stories about them and when i was more mobile my friend david and i took them for a photo shoot. i wouldn't have thought of putting them in city noise but was inspired by someone's photo which had a dead toy in it. thanks for the reference - i hadn't heard of lives of the monster dogs, but will look it up.
