This is the building that originally sparked my love for loft warehouses. Since 1988, I've lusted to live in this building in the part of . As of 2001 (the last time I saw anything available in this building), the ginormous spaces were renting for less than $1 a square foot. Not zoned for living, though... heh. more here

I also spotted this 1965 Chevy parked out front... I had to work fast to snag this shot, and I forgot that my new camera requires hesitating on the shutter-button to autofocus...

Slomo: 24th Jun 2007 - 20:11 GMT

I used to be a bikemessenger in NYC from 98'-03', almost everyday i had to go to 601 W 26th Street, the actual address of the building, there were guys, mostly russians, they exactly knew how to stop the elevator cars on the floor...all manual operated, it was a blast everytime i had to go here...after 9/11 they opened a messenger center, and some of the floors were rented out to... the US Department of Homeland Security. New elevators, no more graph in the building and no more messengers alowed on the upper floors... Bummer !!! But, once in a while you could still sneak into the building, as security wasn't so smart, whatz's new...? ridesafe
