Sunday At The Menil

The Menil Collection building. Italian architect, Renzo Piano designed this beautiful yet subtle building to house the magnificent permanent collection of John & Dominique de Menil, it was completed in 1987 and houses over 15,000 works of art, although at any given time only about 10% of it is on public display.
On a personal level The Menil Collection and it's surrounding buildings are my most revered and treasured locations in Houston. I spend a lot of time on its grounds, whether I am visiting the museums or just taking in its beauty. I can get lost in the Cy Twombly gallery or in Dan Flavin's only permanent installation in the U.S. at Richmond Hall.
The Menil Collection is open Wednesday through Sunday from 11:00am to 7:00pm and is always free.

Wow, I must say her photo in landscape format came out way better than mine. Yes, we both took the GHPA Walking Tour of The University of St. Thomas and The Menil!
