Bring on the Clowns

Normally i don't like to post a single photo on it's own, but i found this one whilst digging through some old stuff. These guys live at the back of an old open air near the seafront in Mablethorpe, Lincolnshire. Evil . I was always scared of clowns as a child. Most amusement arcades used to have a version of "The Laughing Clown". A lifesize clown dummy in a glass cabinet with a money slot. When you fed him the correct change he'd start manickly laughing his tits off. I remember i used to shit myself, but every time we'd go somewhere, my parents would force me to watch one of these till i cried and/or ran away. They also used to force me onto log flumes.

This seems less however. I imagine they just play a little song for you. I didn't give them any money.

AAAAAAAARRRRRRRGGGGGGGHHHHHH!
That's so much scarier than giant phones.

Peter: 17th Nov 2005 - 16:05 GMT

scary indeed. im no fan of clowns myself. i think theyre a relic of another generation... something that just doesnt jibe right with post-television-era kids.

i do like log flumes though. at least now. i think they scared me a bit as a kid too, but getting wet was always fun, regardless of the fact that the average carnival flume's water was probably fulla hepatitis, urine, or worse...

Comedia del arte, you are niculturi! It's the ventriloquist dummies that you have to warch out for...

freaky! cool as hell!! yup, these are still scary, i love 'em.

Catherine Penfold-Waxman: 27th Jul 2006 - 13:21 GMT

They are nearly as scary as Ouchy the clown, who provides "Adult Clown Services." Do not, I repeat not, click the link for straight razor services. I still haven't recovered from the sight.

Baby in Danger!

As promised, here's a pic of the stencil graffiti near my place. It's a baby crawling toward Chestnut St. Creepy and cute at the same time. Sorry about the lackluster image quality - it's from my cell phone camera. -JJ web link
