Translated as "Candy Store Alley", Ameyayokocko used to be the spot for black market goods during WWII. Now the market, located across from Ueno Station, has over 500 vendors selling everything from fish to Iranian calling cards.

ah, great. this is one of my favourite places in tokyo. lots of good restaurants and hang-outs. i lived two stops east at asakusa.
