Edward LAMB: I am very familiar with this tunnel having personally "discovered" the place way back in 1969...
The following, if you please, is an excerpt from my own story :
I had, one day, roaming through Riverside Drive...... Emily: Wow. These are amazing and beautiful. The six shafts of light was my favorite, but they were all so great. Thanks for sharing these.... jack: it looks like two crankshafts soldered together, nice find, good going luna park.... luna park: ahhh, that totally makes sense! crankshaft, heh, what a funny word.
seriously, this thing was at least 10 feet tall and randomly cemented into the middle of the sidewalk.... Peter: nice! its a [[wiki:crankshaft]]... if you spotted it in {red hook}, odds are it came from a {togboat}, large truck or heavy construction equipment, heh...... Jamie: i can has light shafts for wallpaper plz kthxbai... codespace: do you have any hi-res versions of those photos? i'd like a hi-res version of the six shafts of sunlight for a wallpaper.... EvilGentleman: I tried, grange. I now have a severely bruised tailbone since I had 12 webs in a row snap. Apparently, the tensile strength of a spidey-man web is only 300 pounds, dammit! Ever notice that...... colavitos ghost: in front of shaft is more like it!!!... roland: St Andrews Undershaft looks like a friendly crumbly bit of religion, in a cosy COE kind of way - but beware the wandering visitor - Hawksmoor's chilling edifices lurk at the edge of the City...... procyon: weird and cool--i also like the second one best. the playground (or what i assume is the playground) looks like the lunar lander. are these from a camera phone, or was it just the fog...... Ric Romero: This cement structure was to be the elevator shaft of a tall building.
But -ooops- they run out of money for the rest of the building. There was once an ad for a mutual fund...... Jamie: I hope you do. and if you do, i demand that you share the photos with us here. I'd like to repost the urbex stuff here, but i won't do it without permission. I've pleaded...... Frank: I have one of those Buddy Bikes.. the problem is only that the crankshaft is broken!
Can anybody help me?
(I live in Germany where I also bought it but the trader doesn't exist anymore :( )
please...... EvilGentleman: Ironically, I have seen taller buildings in Iqaluit, Nunavut.
And the buildings in Montreal were originally not allowed to be higher than Mount Royal (much like Halifax and the Citadel). Nowadays, the heights of the buildings...... piranha erem: ##"cup the balls and work the shaft"## as they say. i am sorry to be nasty, but its true.....!... Peter: its the shaft right behind my apartment. the sky was generally that color most of the day, all through winter; gray, blue and cloudless....
