Deb Simpkins (nee Massey): Wow! My Uncle Cyril (Bagshaw) put me onto this site and I have just spent the last hour reading all the comments. My mum (Edith Jaques) was born in Irlam and my dad (Jim Massey)...... Rick: The consensus among my mavens is that the bldg with the hedges on the corner of Franklin and Carroll was the Brooklyn Union Gas company.... stepha: thanks robyn, that really is a mystery building, i can remember the hedges around it that were always well trimmed. also across franklin, on that side, a little later in time, was...... Dick: The neighborhood during the early 40's was fabulous. PS 241 on President Street was new. In the schoolyard, softball center & right field were along the fence to the BMT trench. A home run hit...... EvilGentleman: I don't know why, but I have this instinctive urge to step back about two feet, and make this awesome picture even better. (Although that would not actually happen, since I am nowhere near as...... Catherine Penfold-Waxman: I liked these hedges a lot. It's nice to know that famous people have gardeners.... EvilGentleman: chiamatt, by any chance, are you in advertising? You seem pretty adamant about this. I am just stating my opinion, and explaining why this will affect my decision as to where I spend my gas......
