Outside the Old Coast Guard Station

A walk through Wendy Park at Whiskey Island brings you to the West Pier Entrance to the Cuyahoga River. There you will find the decommissioned Coast Guard Station #239. It is easy to get around the 'obstacles' which inhibit public access to this building. As you walk down the long pier and around the edifice, here is what you see: Upon entering it becomes clear that an unsuccessful attempt to convert this station into a bar/restaurant was made at some point. Reminders of this failed effort surround you, as we shall see. More history is here: http://www.uscg.mil/hq/g-cp/history/STATIONS/CLEVELAND.html
