While walking to school last February I noticed there were a lot of emergency vehicles, fire trucks in particular, hurrying down the main arteries of downtown. I was already late for school so I was unable to find out where they were going until after class. While eating lunch, I was told there had been a huge fire on rue . When I arrived, the fire had been pretty much extinguished and the remaining firefighters were just pouring water on the building to make sure the flames had been completly...

This is the Major Byrd Hi-Rise. It was a housing project until a few years ago when some of the bricks started to fall off. Apparently it is cheaper to tear it all down and build less low income housing...
