Digging through some old photo's, here's some scanned photo's, all from 1994. Two of these buildings are no more, and the bridge has changed form. Carrington Power Station - immediately on the other side of the Ship Canal from Irlam, next to where the River Mersey flows into it (it comes out again at Warrington, before becoming tidal at Liverpool). Now demolished, and so no longer can you tell where Irlam is from miles away, with no twin chimneys for reference. The area is currently used as a huge storage area for cars, on there way to where I do not...
