The following text is transcribed from an interview with Sonia Molina (carried out April 15th, 2007). Sonia’s two sisters and mother died in an arson fire at 180 Central Ave, Brooklyn, on the morning of June 14, 1974. The family pictures (and doll) were salvaged from the burnt apartment by her grandmother. She later grew up (with my co-worker’s family) to be a Bushwick educator.
