Previous Day :: Next Dayea: I care, nice! Moebius Rex: Not that anyone cares, but I just discovered that "I Got 5 On It" (see third-from-the-last pic, above) was a hit 1995 rap anthem by Da Luniz, a Yay Area hip-hop collective. The remix of the track included Humpty Hump and Shock G from the Digital Underground as well as... Anonymous (63.230.255.163): bitch puro gangbangin jeeff: why not post an article? the calm one: i watched these cats along with loads of other writers do some carecter peices on a cafe wall, martha cooper was there but missed the big show. found loads of london police stuff in a shoe shop in amsterdam. ive taken thousands of photos of graffiti from all over spain... adam: trying to understand british slang gives me a headache adam: dont you hate when you get a window seat and the window is so dirty that taking pictures would be pointless? Charltina: Who ever owns that Burberry check Metro must come round my way heaps cuz I see it every other day
Anonymous (cpe-68-173-202-245.nyc.res.rr.com): my pleasure...more to come jeeff: it's uk slang. one of the special subtopics at citynoise. jeeff: haha, good eye. tenyen: so jaunty, yet very Arkham Asylum:
http://www.kuro5hin.org/story/2004/1/26/19439/5191
http://yen.spc.org/ jeeff: i think the waterfront expressway was a convention of the post-war urban planning system. stupid urban planners. i remember someone else posted an article about a raised highway cutting through... seattle? portland? but i can't find the article.
no shots of the lake this time. at... Peter: oh, also: any shots of lake ontario? Peter: the brooklyn-queens-expressway is elevated through alot of south brooklyn, and separates it from the harbor, very similar to the gardiner... interesting...
Peter: that first photo looks like it could be on any corner in brooklyn... if brooklyn were *alot* cleaner :) GGP: the transition from one kind of neighborhood/aura to another is just amazing; i enjoyed this thoroughly. that first image in particular delivers a wonderfully moody sensation. jeeff: the part with the head (below the head really) is the thomas fisher rare book library. the oldest piece in their collection is a 1789 BC cuneiform tablet from ur. they have all sorts of crazy shit.
info (and a pixelated photo of the library's interior) here: www.library.utoronto.ca/fisherold/ David: Damn they made the road sink! Peter: sweet! im always a sucker for the trolly photos, heh.
that last photo is breathtaking, with the elevated roadways and buildings. it reminds me of the RenCen in Detroit... there are some photos here, but i cant link em. theyre the old-school citynoise format that doesnt allow easy linkage, heh. Peter: wow, that building is crazy! definitely "turkey" over peacock. whts in the part thats the bird's "head"? that looks like some odd use of space.
the view is breathtaking... i was surprised to see so much green. trees! autumn!
thanks for posting these :) Jamie: i missed this the first time round. nice photos Catherine Penfold-Waxman: Wow! I love these! The one of the entrance to the posh building with the perspective in lights is great. Catherine Penfold-Waxman: Glad y'all liked them. It's such a dramatic angle. I almost got the belly of a plane on it's climb from JFK airport. But then I freaked out that it looked like it was going to crash into the Crysler, which is my nightmare scenario.
I can get a pretty... Jamie: Ra! Ra! Rasputin!
Lover of the Russian Queen
Greatest love machine Geraldine: Hey I live right around there! That's my walk home if I decide to take the 5 train!
~represent xD
hehe, actually it sucks to live in the BX Jamie: mentalist: men·tal·ist noun
one who is mental, or displays mentalistic tendencies Jamie: nice. night walks always result in the best photos Jamie: Wow, these are niice. Just when i thought i was beginning to tire of seeing photos of buildings, random penfold-waxman lady pops up and shares these gems. I hope you return and share more views with us. Amy: "Mentalist"
Would you care to elaborate? jamie: robarts library? robot library, morelike Amy: So true about the fresh perspective.
Thank you. elaine: catherine, the hospital is due to close within the year. the state of the hospitals, in general, in this bourough is absolutely disgusting, so the whole thing is being rethought. it seems to me that some of this building may be listed (ie you can't rip it down) but it... elaine: also - kewel
and the 'etherial bulk' one reminds me of kc's 'graf exit' the way the lights from the windows in the background and the foreground in the right hand of the picture flatten the view and make the front building look transparent elaine: they do if you are mental enough... no, seriously - there is a church in the city of the same name and according to this website www.bbc.co.uk/dna/h2g2/A696125 the bells used to ring when the citrus cargos arrived nearby
the hospital, some miles from there, was originally a work house built... jeeff: except women have ovaries. fuzzytank: hawt jeeff: yeah the place is an architectural nightmare. i always think, "turkey" rather than peacock, which i think is appropriate. inside is even worse. totally confusing and claustrophobic. at least it has a good view. elaine: i can sort of see the peacock thing from the fromt, but separated from the background it looks more like a dog.
what it mainly looks like, to me, tho, is one of those chunky men's sweaters in puce from the 70's Boo: Fuck ppls... whats with the rasicm? We're all just fucking people, you rip out your damn skin and we got the same insides. goofy: when i see the blue its like my soul and when i look at the town it remind me of 9/11 Peter: i love ja. im just jonezing for some flix, or some tips on where i can see em. you misunderstood if you think that i got anything but love for ja's shit. i can be convinced. i just cant be troubled to get out and chase flix i have no... joey: appears to be the bottom shelf brands, as well joey: elaine- is this the place where the bells say 'oranges and lemons' ? joey: good use of your flash joey: hey folks this is berkeley. the peace sign has not been forgotten. kc: you can almost see it in the car hood, too. Shi-ney. Btw, is that guy flashing a peace sign? Whatever happened to road rage? StripesA4: dumb StripesA4: thats some sad shit right there i9ve seen homless people with toes mssing ang that green stuff on the cut GGP: heaven on earth! AD.: OKAY, I'LL SNAP A PIC NEXT TIME I SEE. BUT I ALSO POINT OUT AGAIN, THAT HE HIMSELF - JA - POSTED RIGHT BEFORE ME IF YOU LOOK. I KNOW THAT ANYONE CAN IMPERSONATE PEOPLE ONLINE, BUT READ THE POST; IGNORING ALL OF THE POSTS ABOUT HIM AND... fart person: I'm hungry Peter: wow, that white Z parked in front is tres hot.
yeah, googleimage owns, but im hoping to get some SF perspectives. stories. jeeff: er, actually maybe it's a different tag. hard to tell for sure. jeeff: the almighty google image search led me to here: l.editthispage.com/2000/08/02
which has this photo of rasputin berkeley:
(look closely, you can see the haiku)
Peter: 6 owns. sine thinks she recognizes "the rasputin" from SF. anyone? Editor:: if you show us some new ja shit, ill make sure this entry is edited to show ja is alive and well, and how much anyone that ever sleeps on his shit sucks. Peter: damn straight ill believe! i want to believe, in case you didnt get that. show me that shit, man... it would totally make my day, by the way. if you cant figure out how to post it, email em to editors@citynoise.org and theyll post em here for ya.
ja, if youre... barry: like pictues 3 & 6. Peter: the ones with the blue stripe. like straight outta "the french connection". and the M. ive torn off the newer "mta" stickers before to uncover the "M".
