Previous Day :: Next Dayjeeff: thanks! i bought a screen-printing kit a couple years ago as a self-birthday present, but the instructions were so terrible that i ended up giving it away to a friend without ever properly using it. instead of glue, it came with all sorts of chemical screening agents which... jeeff: is this really "intense subject matter"? jeeff: in tokyo, smoking is illegal on the sidewalk in many places, but legal in almost all buildings (airports, etc). why? because holding a lit cigarette on the sidewalk, you could accidentally poke somebody in the eye. JT (japan tobacco) runs tv ads explaining this. GGP: that guy on the far left uppermost row (next to the beretman) looks a hell of a lot like Jimmy Corrigan. Rubén Pérez García: I read in a newspaper that a Swiss man gave him 240000 euros last week: Don Justo still believes it was 2400. That's evidence of how a man is moved by ideals, not by money or by the search of fame.
elaine: here's another. loving the neon Peter: liking the signs series alot lately... GGP: but it tastes like a no-climb chocolate bar elaine: i assumed it was a flashmob/artthing, never thought of it being hooched! fuzzytank: nice work kobe: thats so cool! is that a bicycle-only road behind it, too? it looks too small for autos. kobe: oh and also, how did you get the shots to overlap perfectly? tripod and timelapse? kobe: all i can say is WOW kobe: jamie: is that a pet bird sticker under bush?
also, why does the cow on the stencil in this post say "friend"? i dont get it. i do like knowing these tips though! cheers. Ivan: Looking like flash-mob :-) Peter: i dont know... but i hope no one would toss a burning cigarette into a garbage can! Ivan: yeah... I'm proud of my country. elaine: i know! and he does have a penetrating look, and he was trying to tell me something. i said to him - mate, i have no idea what you are saying, i do not speak goose, sorry. and after we talked and he had his photo taken he ran into... Ivan: What about burning cigarettes? GGP: Gregory is 21! hence the wizened, slightly world-weary expression. Or maybe he's staring into the horizon looking for a new addition to his harem. elaine: 'gregory' it seems is a bigamist and is 21 years old! my friend lottie was making a docco on the farm and gregory took a fancy to her too. she says you can rub geese under their beak and on their chest - i will have to overcome some trepidation... GGP: high security clearance, eh neighbor? ;) elaine: good one elaine: got a rorschach vibe ea: sheer brilliance hool: fuzzytank: it's a composite image. everyone is in their original positions, but all from different times over a half hour period. Jamie: someone make some george dubya shirts
Peter: totally! and so could the above playground ;) GGP: that see-thru garbage can could use some anti-climb paint, no? Natali: Awesome! I've been making my own t-shirts recently via stencil & paint, so this is something different for me to do. The cow is very cool. GGP: looks like brain-mapping data. nice! Peter: wow, this is really cool! mirrored, symmetric subway maps. nice... thanks for posting :) jeeff: same thing with the playgrounds in toronto. in the last few years, they tore down about half of the playgrounds in the city, leaving just a concrete pad at 157 schools and many city park playgrounds. here's a good quote from the dufferin park website (www.dufferinpark.ca):
"These inspections followed... Jamie: Here's another
jeeff: they weren't drunk, they were cracked out or something. jeeff: for the record jamjar, i really liked your photo of the butcher shop. but if it's discussion you're looking for, maybe you should give us some opinions along with your photos. tell us why you're taking photos of these things, and how they fit into your environment.
peter -... jeeff: it sure is. Jamie: the addition of rats to the last one is indeed a banksy if i'm not mistaken. Jamie: looks like the cat in the hat lost his hat Isabel Cedeira : thanks Nacho for sending me the webpage. It´s awesome to see that some people do things out of a true love for God or for some ideal they have. We should all stick to that instead of critizicing it! Animo Don Justo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Peter: cool! totally random, interesting and informative. i love these sorts of posts. thanks! Peter: mmm, decaying carcasses of dead animals! Peter: wow, id love more details on that story, sandra... Peter: these signs make it look like throngs of people are just queued up to climb those walls, heh... yeah, ive never seen any "anti-climb" anything in america... strange. Peter: vz: i was thinking the same thing... cover it with sawdust or sand... hmm! Peter: fear is one of the most powerful humanity-controlling tools that people have access to... Peter: they look like a banksy creation Peter: elaine: nice goose...
"whatever citynoise is"... what is citynoise?
jeeff: im about this close to deactivating commenting on the crip/blood thread, heh.
Peter: look, i found more!
paredes tengo experiencia sabes !!!...... Dios te manterga firme en su Espiritu. elaine: not provocative enough!?! what, and cute furry animals is? daftie!
i throw down the gauntlet to you this weekend! hardcore or fringe citynoise - get snapping! JamJar: It's just nice to hear a bit of what people think, good and bad ... maybe I'm not provocative enough! I've taken some time off for the long weekend, no doubt I can find some interesting citynoise for you ... whatever citynoise is. Francisco J. S.M.
¡¡¡A ver... elaine: i like the colours on their vests elaine: noisy drunk people in the night, yuk. it's terrible when your bedroom is right on the street, very invasive elaine: ps i like the little critters on the last one elaine: sticky. yuk. my especial phobia!
these are really everywhere - i went outdoors at teatime to take the pics for 'more signs' and only went just outside my flat, so kobe either had these already or had a small amount of time to collect them - the horror is that that... elaine: these are lovely. a poem elaine: oh, jamjar! my heart bleeds! but you can't have failed to notice that most of this thread is a massive bit of squatting from marc which hardly counts as a comment... some of the best threads owe little to the initial posting - post more stuff and roll with the... S**-*i (no names): thats is bull, i bomb all over the place and the worst thats happened is a month in county. i was all over north hollywood and every where in the san frenan vally. dip shits dont understand that i give painters a job by cleaning up my pieces.
i do the... elaine: that's very interesting. we used to have things in kids playgrounds which have been ripped out now because of 'risk' but i don't remember anywone getting injured on them, and certainly nothing in the news - it was just part of the clampdown on individual liberty that encouraged people to... vz: non-drying? so is it like a wax? or more oily?
what if you throw some fine sand or sawdust on it? or apply sandpaper? elaine: more cultural difference, huh. i didn't know you didn't have this anti climb paint. the warning signs are everywhere here, i can't remember for how long - and they add to the weight of prohibition even for people who had no interest in climbing on whatever it was; don't do... vz: very starfleet academy. jeeff: that's a good point. in japan, people are allowed to play with firecrackers every day. in canada, they're only legal... two days a year, i think. and yet i hear of so many bad incidents involving firecrackers here, while i never heard of one in japan. jeeff: i wouldn't get too wrapped up in comment-counting if i were you. or our crip/blood graffiti wars are the best thing on the site right now. sandra: just fyi re: friendly barbar shop not.
Few years ago, someone acutally was shot to death on the chair. Previous Day :: Next Day |
