Previous Day :: Next DayCatherine Penfold-Waxman: Looks like a river of blue paint. Crazy man, crazy. barry: lovly photo Myke: His mum was really pissed off, not at him but at his older sister, who was meant to stop him from getting wet. She of course found it hilarious. I bet the poor little blighter caught a cold after that. Biff: Yeah, it was a tryout for Spaceboys in the Slammer. But our parts weren't big enough. 357smokin: never understood that euro style. reminds me of how a kid with crayons would draw letters. its just blobs of paint outlined with highlights. Biff: There are Fairies at the bottom of my garden... chiamattt: They need to make them so you can lick the inside of the vial when yer desperate! Catherine Penfold-Waxman: I just keep thinking how cold that kid in the fountain park must be (and what hell he's going to get when his Mum sees him).
Very nice travelogue. LOL : Chicago Gang Watch Journal:
“Ready to fuck” Humboldt park: Hernando “King Cock” Martinez, leader of the Almighty Crazy Gay Latin Kings (ACGLK’s) has split from the gang. Rumor has it that he was kidnapped by members of the BBBD’s (Big Dick Black Disciples) and was either forced, or, as gang... Myke: Great post Andrew, welcome to citynoise. I'm a resident of Salford myself. I post quite a bit of Manchester city centre here. elaine: zactly that. it's the way forward.
wig out! Peter: this very website is a perfect example of la perruque at work ;) elaine: it's a hoot, isn't it. i love all that. elaine: ::smirks:: ta!
funny how the most critical seem to have left their cameras at home... Catherine Penfold-Waxman: My God, that's it exactly. My Marxist tendancies make me subvert my capitalistic job with other creative avenues. Elicar: Re: Elaine's response to Samantha. I have always loved the Brits for their wit!
Great repartee, Elaine! elaine: makes me think of la perruque www.dci.pomona.edu/~kfitzpatrick . . . iki/index.php/La_perruque Catherine Penfold-Waxman: Mums work very hard. They've got to get the kids off to school, tidy up the streets and make dinner. Phew! elaine: mums have been back again...
Laura : That's so neat. Wish he'd do some work on the MTA- lots of "material" for him there! Laura : I felt the same way about the Cliffs of Moher in Ireland- all my pictures are amazing and everyone complemented them. You'd have to do something pretty extrordinary not to take a fabulous shot of them, though, they're so incredible. Despite that, this is a beautiful photo- thanks for sharing... Catherine Penfold-Waxman: When we present concepts to clients they often have fake copy (which is usually Latin 'Loreum ipsum' and the like). When I was an art director, I always liked to hide the word 'quim' in my fake copy. It tickled me to make presentations to a room full of very... elaine: ooh! please! i would love that.
when i was at school it was a point of pride to write "paralytic against the (insert thing) s/he lay" in every essay, relevant or not, because my friend frances got a special star/tick/mark for it once.
and i often put things in to writing... Hobart:
Catherine Penfold-Waxman: I work in advertising. Shall I work it into the ad I'm writing today? elaine: i could work in advertising, couldn't i? Peter: no, its great in brooklyn! jeeff: www.onsmithcomics.com/html/extra . . . tras/japan_images/075.jpg
www.math.dartmouth.edu/~klyve/tr . . . ravel/japan/manonsign.jpg
those are both better examples. no way can i translate them tho.
ps. both those sites have other good photos of japan. jeeff: cool, i like your technique. jeeff: actually that front one's just a roadwork sign - "caution, [infrastructure?] work, 40m from here, until feb 28th, tokyo [whatever agency] blah blah blah, telephone number" (please, anyone feel free to fill in my crappy translation)
wish i'd gotten a better pic of the white sign. jeeff: hm i propose an int'l comparison of the wording of those signs. canada's are different, but i don't have a photo.
however, i do have japan:
jeeff: elaine - that's an inspiring slogan. jeeff: hey, if you haven't heard the minimum-maximum live cd i highly recommend it. all live tracks from their world tour.
www.kraftwerk.com/info/CD/minimummaximum.html josh: is it bad in brooklyn jeeff: oh i remember the drawings they have of the dancers out front. you can just see them in the pic. i haven't been out that way since the summertime. it's no fun to go wandering when it's freezing cold. i want to head way out along... elaine: they are unheimlich de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Unheimlich jeeff: if i, as a carnivore, don't have to be abashed, neither do you. elaine: oh, jeeff! jeeff: man i really miss winter. jeeff: someone's been watching too much chronicles of narnia. Peter: heh. that impaled troll-head is tres creepy! Catherine Penfold-Waxman: Thanks for drawing our attention to this. I'm off for a good look at beautified gum. Catherine Penfold-Waxman: AAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHH.
These are almost as terrifing as clowns. EvilGentleman: I'll add one of my trademark comments later. Got an exam at 6. I gotta try that, if only the sun comes to Montreal again EvilGentleman: cool Cameo: I bet the neighbours love that! Elicar: Hey Biff, are you sure you and Sean are not there to audition for a part? ;)
That's Church between Carlton and Wellesley....
Gabi: Thanks Peter. I was surprised to see the result. You never know what you get with long exposures. Tyfoid Kid: Actually this one is on the historical register so it's not going condo but every building on either side of it up and down the river in downtown Minneapolis is going condo or being torn down to be replaced with condos.
This is going up next door
http://www.emporis.com/en/il/im/?id=325495 Tyfoid Kid: Wow!! Very cool!! shelley: there is to much tim horton's litter. elaine: thx. i do actually feel sick now... elaine: mr valet? Alex: I just have to say to everyone that read my comments on Jan 12th, to know that I have had some enlightening experiences since then. All you need to know, is that this place NEEDS TO CHANGE! For the better. What I remember is nostalgalistic, not positive.... adam: hello, I just moved into Humbolt Park one year ago. Gunshots and police about, are just a way of life in many places. Chicago is unique in it's diversity, peacefull to hectic. Many of my neighbors may consider me to be a yuppie. I might be.... Jackie: There's some kinda crazy about the fact that this very bridge is on the lake where they've filmed a number of those spring break "girls gone wild" videos.
