Previous Day :: Next DayCartLegger: ah such scenic abandon! I like the way you shot into the sun to create this stark image. Who needs detail when you have sucy outlines? groovehouse: it's unfinished upfromflames:
here ya go! Not sure which one ya meant, but one of these... dee: ok now i went to acorn and had to leave,no basketball team,no gym,no real after school activities and not even up with the computer game of now a days honestly people goin to this school are at a disadvage zagg: I am going of few words this afternoon:
I will tbe the unpopular one and say I'd thing it would be a good idea to have registration.
I do like the idea of an optional profile.
I would accept the nomination of being a 'second-level editor'
zagg: it's art man, art. little ukraine: this is an AMAZING idea, i will gladly contribute to this. i may have stuff already, i'll dig through my old photos tonight. SCAM28: Very nice indeed...
@upfromflames or Peter....could one of you maybe take a picture of what is above the piece and penguin in the first foto...it looks interesting and would be greatly appreciated! SCAM28: Maybe it's a kamikazi roller coaster... CartLegger: Why stop at NYC? Moses travelled far and wide in his journeys. So snap away, oh Canadian brethren. zagg: eh? zagg: I need's me a naked mermaid for my garden. EvilGentleman: Damn, now I can't stop thinking.
Maybe the authors listing should be ranked by total hits, and not by articles posted. I mean, I'm closing in on hool's total article count, yet I am nowhere near as heavily viewed as he is. If citynoise were a book website, and authors were... EvilGentleman: Oh, and "go to top" sounds good to me as well.
But the floating boxes would need frames, I think. And frames = trouble, in my book.
I like joey's "today in history" idea, but as a supplement to, and not a replacement of the random article section. And the random articles... EvilGentleman: Well joey, since you are my elder, I shall respect your opinion :p EvilGentleman: I've noticed that after a month or so, the hit counter on the bottom starts becoming very inaccurate, as far as how many months or years it has been since the article was posted.
If you do decide to retain the present method of recording hits, the calendar portion needs some... joey: i second the 'go to top' button joey: maybe you're waning. we're all waning in the u. s. a. could have been a song by the clash EvilGentleman: The dam under which I used to fish as a boy in Cornwall, Ontario was called the Moses-Saunders Power Dam. The New York State end of the dam is in Robert Moses State Park. That sure takes me back, thinking of lying in the sun on the banks of the... joey: wow. that's a nice photo and today is the first time i've ever seen it, i swear. EvilGentleman: What I find remarkable is that the Stop the MPAA sticker is in Canada, where the MPAA has no actual authority. EvilGentleman: Congratulations on entering the new world of home-ownership, zagg. I have yet to get there myself, but all things in good time. zagg: Evil: Pirate is good; I moved into my first house (I've lived in houses, this is the first one that has had a mortgage under MY name) - Frederick lives in the kitchen where he protects the house and home. Bill Hammond: JoeAnn if you can download Google Earth you can enter Gated Ave, Brooklyn, NY and when it appears you can scan around and find the streets you wrote about. You can even zoom right down to the houses your mother lived in if you know the intersecting streets EvilGentleman: I hate fish. But dolphins are cool, since they are mammals. Mmmmm, fried dolphin.... EvilGentleman: Welcome back. Good to see posts from you again. How's the pirate doing? hv11221: The making of this mural appears in the WSJ video piece: Inner-City Gentrification in Brooklyn (available at: http://feeds.wsjonline.com/wsj/video/pursuits) Catherine Penfold-Waxman: That's one sweeeeeet ride. oooooooeeeee doggie.
(imagine that with an English accent.) Catherine Penfold-Waxman: Hitchhikers Guide meets st Patricks day. Nice! zagg: Toronto still had snow at that point?
Suckers! (j/k) zagg: I have been in winter hibernation mode. My photography has been soley inside instead of outside until my winter jacket can get lost - doesn't make for much citynoise content. joey: welcome back. with all the recent bashing of the big 3 domestic auto makers, this photo says it all. where you been? CE: Anyone who knows a lot about photography, can you tell me why the black forground arrow sign turned transparent? I still ahve no idea how I did that. CE: I used to walk this street (due to always missing the bus) every morning and every night for about a month before the landlord stole all our appliances due to a bounced rent cheque on behalf of my roommate. I have many good and bad memories from my short... EvilGentleman: Hehe, I have a few ex-girlfriends in this area, know it well. upfromflames: cool! I walk past that corner everyday. Mine is the school on the next block. This graf site changes every few months, so come back! upfromflames:
a few more images of buildings in the zone, that I wanted to get in before Peter!
The locked buildings are part of the abandoned housing transfer system. The decayed house front is a reno job recovery from a fire. All in the Bushwick Initiative Zone. Interviewing a rep from... EvilGentleman: Nice airbrushing technique, I think it is. I'm guessing the artist in this case also does work on custom paintjobs for cars. I've seen a similar technique used on really good flamejobs. Sometimes, the softer edges seem to pop out more than well-defined ones. What's with the green dashes on... EvilGentleman: I don't know why, but I have this instinctive urge to step back about two feet, and make this awesome picture even better. (Although that would not actually happen, since I am nowhere near as good with night photography as groovehouse) I really wish I could have seen how the... Previous Day :: Next Day |
