Previous Day :: Next Dayelaine: i am almost sick with pleasure to present to you this weblink;
www.bbc.co.uk/london/yourlondon/ . . . n/peregrine_falcons.shtml
it is a live webcam of peregrine falcons nesting in a tower block in london. it is located near broadcasting house just off oxford st WC1.
seems they are very happy in london, eating the pigeons. i want one elaine: hee hee hee Peter: wow, that looks like a busy block... more uk graf! Peter: well, everyone that isnt someone that hates tree-bark textures ;) elaine: everyone? elaine: cooool! i love the vivid blue sky Peter: everyone likes tree-bark textures. i certainly do. trees rule. Peter: hardly, if youre smart and know how to act. safety issues in nyc, especially the outter boros, are greatly overblown. its not the 1970s anymore :) Anonymous (dynamic-62-56-58-56.park-s46b.dslaccess.co.uk): these boys probably, for instance elaine: i can't even justify it, whys and wherefores, but it just seemed to hang, so i hadda go with it elaine: greasy looks worldly wise. in the first shot he looks like he is thinking the bikes, in the style of a soviet poster, whereas in the second shot he knows about the bikes but he is saying something else to you, he is, perhaps, nodding, and saying 'yeah, pete, i... RACHEL: I plan to attend school in Manhattan and live in a house in Bushwick. I am Japanese-American. I would be riding the J train between 9-11pm 6 days a week. should I worry about safety? elaine: well, they seem to have the run of the flat and the balcony. i wonder if there are carpets... Peter: more Greasy:
elaine: i think the phrase right mind is highly subjective here Peter: totally. i mean, its obviously abandoned or disused, but even so... when it was operating, who in their right mind would slide down a slide into that weird enclosure at teh bottom? i guess theyve done it that way to allow one to slide in high or low tide, but... Peter: if i were a bird, i probably wouldnt mind hanging out in a place like that. Peter: nice. this was a cool idea. i like posts that have a creative twist to them, like this one :) elaine: hate to break it to you, but it's not all birds
a'course, i don't know how many s/he has in there... Peter: thats alot of birds! wow! elaine: ok i will definately buy that, it's the best i have heard so far, and there are gypsies in kent all right. and there is precedent, in lowland scots the term gadge or gadgee for a bloke is straight from romany. well done, that etymologist! elaine: and here is a pet bird location for ya
Jamie: Many consider the term chav to have come from nineteenth-century Romany language, either from chavi, meaning "male child" (chavo similarly meaning "female child", and chal meaning "boy"), or from chavvy, meaning "mate" or "friend" (usually in the sense of "fellow Roma", and hence used as a pejorative for all Roma... elaine: i know! i was so pleased to see this today. i have other stuff to post, but just wanted to put this one in here. it's fab, isn't it?
btw its' location is brick lane E1 elaine: i have seen muybridge pics animated together, it was way cool jeeff: amen to that. elaine: check this out!
jeeff: ps. thanks! jeeff: more in-depth answer:
i use a wacom graphics tablet to allow me to draw onto my computer. i use adobe photoshop, corel painter and alias sketchbook pro for various functions.
for reference, i use photos taken from my digital camera, as well as photos from images.google.com and in... kobe: that looks like the creepiest water-slide ever. for real. jeeff: with my hands nb: whoa that's hot. how did you do this? elaine: said in east london pikey/chav accent "but why?"
phonetically: whaaye elaine: clean off your vandals with vandalene elaine: i LOVE this. love it love it love it jeeff: it's funny, when the promo posters came out for that movie, the day after tomorrow, they put the one with the eiffel tower up all over tokyo. everyone in japan just assumed it was the tokyo tower. jeeff: here's a photo from my tokyo guidebook (let's go tokyo - highly recommended to travellers!). it shows the plane suspended in the middle.
buzz: thanx 4 the tipz this has been real helpful for me Peter: heh heh! Peter: wow, just wow. thats quite a structure... that last shot is nice, too, as you can see the repeating, dense complexity of the structure. ive never seen or heard of this tower before. now i have. thanks jeeff! Peter: jeeff, i love entries like this. great photos, plus you get to read captions for them. it reads like a book. i especially love the fuji tv headquarters. that building is a trip...
and i got a kick out of you mentioning seeing airplanes suspended between structures... i do that... Peter: look what I passed again today, on the way to the train:
Peter: ive seen that first one! before it faded, even... the part at the bottom were the feet of an owl-like creature, the top was clouds. apparently, the red/orange color that made up the creature faded/washed away leaving it as it looks. i forget where it is (on park or vanderbilt?)... Peter: yay thats my neighborhood too! :D :D did you happen to catch the hennessy billboard before the ad was put up and it had graffiti tags on it? that was pretty cool. i love that area of flatbush and prospect heights in general...
jeeff: tighty? jeeff: vandalene sounds like something sold by art vandelay industries. Jamie: i think it is originally a pikey thing, is it not? Captain Svejk: I came across the stuff by accident, honest guv. It has the consistency of silicone grease and it's as nasty and black as the muck you get on bicycle chains or car hub caps. It's an absolute bugger to get off.
Sand or sawdust would just mix in, even if you... Captain Svejk: Hey, these are great.
Anonymous (cpe-24-90-253-77.nyc.res.rr.com): yo, why you sweatin my man inkhead's nuts for?
theres a ton of great graffiti everywhere.
Discriminate, and appreciate more.
I like that flick of O! and cs, thats oro 1, rest in peace, cs prolly bigged him up there.
say it nosy...yeaaahh eeeeehhhhh your bike is sooo cool, i have a 1962... stoopidoodoodumb: that is inkhead...not inkheads.
this mistake is made by people who don't know shit about shit.
Inkheads IHS is a crew from new york/miami that really
came out in miami, but crushed it in NYC also.
InkHead IHone is a singular entity, no plural about it sucka.
woops, i said... dee cap: miracles of miracles. i was back at the urban ore on saturday, yesterday. i took another photo of our elephant friend. and you know what? the elephant did take a step forward and the rider ducked under the wire. he ventured to walk up murray steet. unharmed Previous Day :: Next Day |
