Previous Day :: Next Dayelaine: hurrah for heathens.
::does down face dog, just for the hell of it:: elaine: is that the same as pebbledash? MOSE ONE: normel didnt get roped,it was fosl Fa11en: What a bunch of bullshit. Especially that last entry by Tenda. Just because someone is white means they're not "allowed" to live or exist in a specific area? Ever heard of reverse discrimination? You don't like being treated differently when you move somewhere or frequent a... Biff: I was surprized that there's an international "no" symbol for this. Must
be a global problem... Biff: This looks like public housing. They better have a big pool and a full gym... kc: I love that thing! I've come back several times to enjoy it again...I think partly the idea that everything around it as melted, so you could stand there and contemplate the wonder of ice in relative comfort. groovehouse: We have these things 'inside the loop' where I live here in Houston. The workmanship is so shoddy and they are put up so fast, I have noticed that some of the one's they built about 5+ years ago are already falling apart in places!! People who build these things... Me: Looks like he got something stuck in his (*sigh) Jon: Minneapolis approves plan for Ivy Tower site
Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal - October 8, 2004
by Scott D. Smith
Staff reporter
The Minneapolis City Council approved a revised plan for a hotel and housing at the Ivy Tower site in downtown Minneapolis Friday.
Real estate investors and owners of the Ivy Tower, Jeffrey Laux... ehsohz: Thx to all all those who posted recepies! Im a stenciler and was curious about putting up huge pieces and wheat paste or variations there off was a mystery to me... sine:
Forgot this one, CROOK & DOSE killin' Charlotte!! sine:
Nice ian: Yawn. Only people with shit jobs complain about yuppies. You should be happy people are so desperate to move back into the city they'll live in bland, soulless complexes like this. Tyfoid Kid: The article talks about a concrete structure inside. The surface isn't brick. It almost looks like some kind of stucco. I stopped by on the way to work and got as close as I dared (cranes and fences and construction debris Oh My)
Peter: sally: ill gladly take the cd. it will fit nicely next to the cd of music i got from the strange sionist hippy guy that plays songs about jerusalem in front of the met.
also: what was up with the pilgrims? i saw em too- scads of em- at the {wtc... EvilGentleman: I just posted Kangirsujuaq II Peter: invisibleman.com/archives/random/000240.html Tenda: I call for open revolution in the streets. Bloomberg can suck my balls. I hope he reads this. It makes me happy that that white kid got killed in Harlem. Catherine Penfold-Waxman: Great chaotic mash up of sights. I could look at these for hours. Really great. Catherine Penfold-Waxman: Can any form of exercise where you have your arse in the air be christian? And those ungodly names like "Downward facing dog," they just make you think of s-e-x.
Or is that just me? Susan: This urban blight is spreading malignantly across southern Ontario too. The shores of Lake Ontario (for those of you who don't know, it's the size of an inland fresh water sea)and it's cooling effect during our stinking humid summers, are deadened by high rises. Harbourfront in Toronto being a prime example. Joyce: This is a fabulouw appreciation of nature and of course Brooklyn at its best...have been searching for a description of the Veil of Cashmere...thanks a bunch for the answer....PS..love the Kitty at the end.I have the twin here at home...
elaine: i never understood the urge to lick ice before, and now my screen is all messy. elaine: i like how the abstract forms have gathered to take a look. i wouldn't mind being a fly on the wall for their conversation... elaine: haha. *architecture* cool.
anyway, now i want that waterlily/whateveritis on those photographic floor tiles, imagine walking on that in your bathroom... elaine: i take issue with the use of the word 'regency'. if the regency period was a brand it would sue bigtime. elaine: peter, ditto tai chi. that, too creeps out the xtians.
in this country, at present, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy is getting taken very seriously as THE treatment of choice for NHS patients with psyche problems (apart from proper mentals) and they, in turn, are sending people on mindfulness courses run bu buddhists.... aer suzuki: Well...uuuuuuhhhh, I'm actually here to talk about the photos, oddly enough. I like the epic feeling they've got, very strange and beautiful cloud formations, full of portent.
That refrigerator is really cool too. aer suzuki: That's funny.
Those condos are ugly as hell but not nearly as ugly as some they're putting up, or have recently put up, here in Seattle. Strange how the pursuit of scads of money and a lack of good taste often go hand in hand. EvilGentleman: aer suzuki, as Laura mentioned, the Inuit village of Kangirsujuaq (population - 550) is in the Canadian province of Quebec, along the Hudson Strait at the northern end of the province. If you check the comments here, you will find some maps that jeeff added to my first article about... chiamattt: No idea man. Architecture? shandy: I'm white and my place in Bushwick was the first I moved to when I came to New York. I had no idea what neighborhood meang what, I moved there firstly because my friend lived there and needed a roommate, and secondly it didn't hurt that it was cheap...because I... jessica: Not to rain on anybody's fuzzy furry cute racoon parade, but that previously mentioned ( smart racoon guy, several entries above) roundworm is anything but cute. Try googling "racoon roundworm" if you don't believe me. Although pretty rare statistically, a friend of mine's young nephew contacted it at a daycare... jeeff: whats the deal with that crazy building in photo #12? Laura : Its in Quebec jeeff: sally, every day is jesus day.
*looks at you steadily for a long time* jeeff: i should also note that during the trip we saw an improbable number of dead birds. i could have done a series. at one point we climbed up on a roof to photograph some graffiti (photo #5) and there were 3 dead chicks of varying age scattered across... sally: wtf is today jesus day and no one remembered to tell me?
i was walking through atlantic station today, listening to 'king of carrot flowers, pt II' when suddenly i found myself surrounded by 40 young pilgrims singing christian songs and about 15 more handing out cds. i managed to dodge... chiamattt: I like the photo. chiamattt: www.citynoise.org/article/4110/by/chiamattt native tonguez: Yoda? Peter: omg, i only now noticed the christian dude's prosthetic arm. native tonguez: any of you native americans who lived in brooklyn 500 years ago? no? then you really dont have much right to talk.
gentrification is a touchy subject. but whether youre white, black or latino, you were not the first here. so keep that in mind when you mention manifest destiny and... chiamattt: Well you will be happy to know that I have a few more days of shots to post....Im pretty lazy when I get home from work so I do them when I wake up in the morning. I think because of the time zones they jump off the main page... Peter: hool. wow. those last three... rule. in a series, theyre like the same composition, but slightly different. i love how they work together.
also: i hope youll be taking shots of Mutek for those of us who cant make it in person ;) chiamattt: OH, and I didn't take this photo. Peter: dude, you do a great job of capturing everyday-life in your photos; and im into that. i particularly like the ones of the trains and the shoes. and of course, the surrpetitious shots of the hot barkeep. i wouldnt mind seeing more korea, man. for real. i know you see... chiamattt: It is to capitalist christians. ;p
Laurette Willis is also the author of "basic steps to godly fitness" Peter: lol, chia... classic! is yoga considered "unchristian" by christians?! chiamattt: I took them all on election day! NCO queen: whend did you take all these photos? i like the photo with the water plant!
