Previous Day :: Next Dayjoey: the innocuous resin chair made into high art.
or - right from their web page - Sense of the City is a major exhibition dedicated to the theme of urban phenomena and perceptions which have traditionally been ignored, repressed, or maligned. Challenging the dominance of the visual in the urban... aer suzuki: cool pictures, cool story. aer suzuki: while this is funny and i'm not really the type to ruin a party i gotta wonder about the ethical implications of taking someone's picture without their permission and posting it in a high profile, public forum.
with the advent of tiny digital cameras and camera phones, it's getting extremely easy... GUS BRENNAN: REGENCY LANDING MY BACKSIDE, THIS IS NO MORE REGENCY THAN THE ARCHITECS WIFE, IF YOU WANT TO SEE SOME REAL OLDEN WORLDE PROPERTY CHECK OUT "BARNOLDSWICK" ON THIS WEB SITE AND YOU WILL SEE A REAL OLD TOWN, WITH PROPERTY AT A FRACTION OF THE PRICE GUS BRENNAN: SCOTT GREAT IDEA, I LIVE IN A VIBRANT TOWN OF BARNOLDSWICK ENGLAND, AND IT`S NICE TO SEE THE OTHER HALF, THESE TOWNS YOU POST LOOK VERY SAD, I WOULD HATE TO LIVE IN THIS LOCAL. SO CHECK OUT MY TOWN OF BARNOLDSWICK, THIS IS THE PLSCE YOU WANT TO BE.................... EvilGentleman: Good point, Chris. Most of the truly spiral staircases are in fact, either fire escapes or accesses to rear balcony entrances. Then there are the double spirals, one for the left side and one for the right, although they share the same landings in the middle. Confusing? Yes, it is... Marilyn a twin: Before there was the Federation - there was just us guys riding the Blvd-riding up to the take out window of Burger King - riding the beach area and the streets of Brooklyn and Queens - I sure miss those days - Black and White riders from Linden Blvd -... brett: HE'S ALL BUSINESS UP FRONT AND ALL PARTY OUT BACK....!!!! Chris Erb: hahaha @ Rubidium Chris Erb: When I was in Montreal, I didn't see too many main entrances that were full sprial staircases like the one above. Most of what I saw (Mostly in the [Plateau], I didn't make it to Verdun) were staircases that made a rounded 90 degree turn at the top or... little ukraine: these posts have made me feel so much better about Long Island. i'll never complain about being bored there again. well, not for a few weeks anyway. LWAMC: lwamc@hotmail.co.uk brenda: I just had a basswood tree cut down today and have a new sunny morning spot in the family room. I will miss the tree, but it also was hollow half way up and dead on the top. I will plant another tree in its memory. mofidious: lwamc.....wats ure email??? Peter: ja, aber schreiben sie graffiti? bimi : genau würd auch sagen fuck england:-D mofidious: so as to prevent confusion between the names MOFIDIOUS and MODIFIDIOUS, MOFIDIOUS (or was that MODIFIDIOUS?) is now changing our name (against our doctor's orders, mind you) to the following:
colin from the co-op: oh my god i saw that modifidious stencil down on south street and hopton. i happened across it on my way to the public toilets on the wong; a venue often frequent by myself, and somewhere i indeed go to solicit the sexual attentions of other men. but i digress.... number one fan x x x: OMG i love ur photos! i want 2 come see u but i don't no where u live and i dont have ne money! ur biggest fan! Scott Sargent: Gus, its a very small, boring town. I have indeed seen many "proper" towns, as it were, and while I appreciate your specific gusto for BARNOLDSWICK, I am hoping to make a different point through this series of postings. Scott Sargent: Thanks (that's the point!). Catherine Penfold-Waxman: I'm loving these posts. They are so "Day After." GUS BRENNAN:

THE POST OFFICE BUILDINGS,
EvilGentleman: grange, they kicked me out of Git'mo last year. Apparently, I snore too loud. EvilGentleman: Duck! And cover... Duck! And cover... Xindy the Lesbian: Let me just point out that that sign does NOT say "STOP HeteroSEXUALISM" but rather "STOP HeteroSEXISM". There is a huge difference here. One means stop being straight and the other simply means stop thinking heteros are superior to homos. Next time, try making sure you are... GUS BRENNAN: TO SEE A PROPER TOWN, CHECK OUT "BARNOLDSWICK" EvilGentleman: I personally prefer it as a garnish in my turtle soup. Goes well as a side with possum-burgers, as well. EvilGentleman: Envision the "spine" of the goose lying flat in the ocean. This is the position the ice was in when the waves were sculpting it. This particular piece just happened to get trapped by the tide (for a few days, in fact) at a point when it looked quite interesting,... GUS BRENNAN: IS THIS AN ACTUAL TOWN ,OR JUST A SERIES OF BUILDINGS ???? Horncastle Harry: I just spotted this one on south street & hopton!
EvilGentleman: Many of the winding staircases you see here in Montreal (although not this one) are in fact, main entrances. This is especially true in Verdun and the Plateau Mont-Royal. Just imagine having to shovel 3 floors of stairs after an ice storm. Talk about fun. GUS BRENNAN: hi scott, yes i must agree the buildings do look quite flat, apart from the grain tower. but surely it`s not the building that make a town, the residents can add something, now, if they are a boring bunch then there is no hope, anyway i expect ok. to be... Peter: "ice technology"? heh. i think its called mother nature. M0d1f1d10u5 : #1 guitar stylings of MODIFIDIOUS:

huh?: so wait, youre at www.myspace.com/modifidious? Catherine Penfold-Waxman: I've always thought that they should have poles as fire escapes (just like at the firehouses) for the able bodied to get out superquick. Although I would put on a negligee and wait to be rescued by a hot fireman. mofidious: ...............no our band is MOFIDIOUS that band is MODIFIDIOUS but they r very old and have broken up now it was fluke they sound the same lol check out www.myspace.com/mofidious 2 c the start of my bands webpage.........mofidious joey: not like the old days; wine, women and song Chris Erb: Thanks Peter!
I love the staircases in Montreal but I've heard they're not allowed to be used for fire escapes on new buildings anymore. Apparently people will become disoriented when rushing down the stairs and having to go in circles. If it's true, it's too bad because they're quite... GUS BRENNAN: thanks for your comments jack, as for the other jack, i have not got a clue who he is ,but, does it matter, after all typing anything in caps, is hardly, wait for it, a CAPITAL OFFENCE, i really can`t see what differance it makes, as long as it is... ......: yea :D

im sure that performance mod comes in really handy when the driver takes to the streets for some seeeeeerious racing action! EvilGentleman: Wow! I'm (almost) speechless. Good job, grange. I'm really impressed. joey: they're brewing up a new batch of acid rain to send north over the lake. EvilGentleman: The fire was shot on St Paddy's, saw the glow from the distance while dropping a friend off at 3 AM, so I went to investigate (I had no class the next day). This sidewalk stuff, I saw it while on my break between classes, as it is right across... Peter: ive always wanted one of those signs... Catherine Penfold-Waxman:
Radioactive Astoria. The apartment building next to my house.
Peter: this is a great entry. thanks eg- its comprehensive, and not the wsort of thing you see every day. im not sure i could get away with taking such straight-on, unobsctructed shots of the embasies here, so cheers! huh?: wait, is this yer band? www.modifidious.co.uk? grange: Awwwwwwwwww Evil , not to put a damper on your pic , but isnt this a good way to have CISIS look you up and send you gitmo t@ngent: there are now 17,100 pages listed for 'mofidious' on google

this is a view down albert road, the main shopping thoroughfare, and leading to the town square davie: visited the shankill many times during the marching season and outwith it met a lot of nice people and as far as the tourist route is concerned you havent visited belfast until you ve been up the shankill road where your made more than welcome in its many pubs and... aer suzuki: well at least future archaeologists & anthropologists will know that we were a proud people, too proud to pick up after ourselves, apparently. or rather not proud enough...or maybe the trash will be perceived as religious paraphernalia, encased in rock for preservation throughout time. damn, it's ugly.

station chambers, this is a mock tudour building, and is not as old as it looks
GUS BRENNAN:
this is the view down the butts, note the road has been surfaced, after all the years of pot holes, puddles and bumpy funeral rides, from duxbury`s
GUS BRENNAN:
the cross keys, just acroos the road from the barlick pub, in fact most of the towns pubs, and clubs, are a mere stones throw from each other GUS BRENNAN:
the bar`lick pub on church street, this used to be the old commercial pub
as any old barlicker would know. GUS BRENNAN:

Selig: 2nd last shot is a fine one. groovehouse: long live non-biodegradable petrochemical packaging! EvilGentleman: I just cleaned my lens today. I shudder to think of how many pics I took with that fingerprint in it. Catherine Penfold-Waxman: I've watched too many horror films where someone says, "let's take this local road." They usually end up with less fingers and witless friends than they started with. I don't want to be made into a girl suit. Catherine Penfold-Waxman: Looks a bit like Hastings, Sussex. But with less witches. And more sandy beaches. Raw sewage is about the same. barry: The kids love it I bet. Wicked: What up!?!? Art Fiendz are officially in the building!
