Previous Day :: Next DayDeborah Walker (nee Ormandy): Thanks everybody - I have been making a few enquiries of my own, the Uncle who told me about this school sadly passed away a few years ago.
I think the school on Allotment Road was used as a temporary basis, when the school had it's big fire. So that would... Jay: Over 50% of the Fredericton City Police are involved with the criminals of NB,.. I know from first hand experience,.. The major criminals are left alone because of the help they get from the Fredericton City Police. So yes, they do abuse their authority, They're as dirty as most anyone... JiMong: It looks like a part of transformer! CartLegger: The spirit of neglect places helps us reflect on the neglected places and times in own lives. The road above may buzz, as others drive by, but there you are, still, in the midst of all that.
Here's to ya, Jack! joey: ok. let's have a beer and relax
joey: that's the spirit, old man. jack: very good photos, unfortunately korea became one of those unwinnable wars like nam and now iraq. Kristina: Kashagawigamog, that's near Sawyer's Lake. Beautiful, was just there. CartLegger: As found scrawled on the wall of an introduction to Logic classroom, perhaps? It sure broke my heart. There was always the contrapositive to consider... karlo: I wholeheartedly agree mate
Its over
and thank fuck for that
now, whats this about a shared future?........ Paul Ellington: Deborah - Cadishead Primary is now on allottment road, I think this used to be a high school some time in the past. hope this helps. jack: for boys and girls who daydream of romance. jack: great place for a holloween party. jack: i saw the sign first and thought it was a one way sign and it said stop, but then i scrolled down and saw the bike, it hit home and my heart broke, i sighed for the child, i've seem many men die but i cry when a child gets... CartLegger: Do you mean the center strip of the cemetery as viewed from google maps?
On the ground, in the bush, this thing has no center. It is all sprawl. It is huge, going on for unknown acres. WYTHE: i love cope2 his paints are beautiful, he's my inspiration for paint the streets... cope is the king of kings!!!!! anon (): i lived on bergen street in the 60,s man it hasnt changed a bit only that store where the fire was use to be a grocery store. is the bar still across the street amelia : hi gwen i belive i am ur number one fan i hope to be like u some day but i know i wont be as pretty or as good but you r my role model. p.s my mum calls me lamb CE: The first half seem so wealthy to me because they look very much like the housing stock in parts of Westmount (and some of the wealthier areas of NDG) here in Montreal. These neighbourhoods (Westmount especially) are very rich and have an architectural style that is purposefully very different... joey: i think it's cool that the center is wooded. nice design. ......: just to let you know jaone used to piece wayyy back in the day on trains upfromflames: or just--like the title says--stop! CartLegger: wod! Power to the pedals--even if you were being tongue in cheek. Cyril Bagshaw:
Hi Deborah
I attended Irlam Central School from 1936 until 1939.It was then mostly a wooden building situated on the appraoach to Irlam Station. It was later named Alfred Turner where our sons attended. The school had the Catholic School playgrounds on its north boundary and a farm on... serlingrod: to me the first half looks like a middle-class neighborhood that's always been stable...the second half looks like a result of white flight. just my guess.....what's the story? thanks so much for sharing by the way...the housing stock reminds me alot of Philly (which isn't terribly surprising). I was... CartLegger: Thanks. I've been seeing this place for years. But I thought "you could never get in there, gotta be a fence."
But no. I was surprised to learn that just sort of walk right in--well, next door and through the woods.
The links were garnered post experience, as I tried to... CE: It's too bad you didn't get to some of the more architecturally interesting stops. Verdun, De La Savane, Vendôme, Villa-Maria, and many other stops (especially outside of the older sections Downtown) are very beautiful and/or interesting. CE: The first half of the article make it look like a very wealthy neighbourhood and the second half makes it look very poor. is there a class divide somewhere or is it just in the process of gentrification? JG: You're absolutely correct about the visual compression--but I think the larger issue remains the same: the road widening, signage, etc. is just plain ugly. And I say this as someone who loves Tallahassee.
If more care had been given to the zoning, landscaping, sidewalks, sign dimensions and so forth when... Matt: The city of Moncton just bought a fleet of SmartCars to use for municipal stuff (ie parking patrol) Peter: i love these sorts of photos. more metro! :D colavitos ghost: everyone just ride a bike. just go out and do it!
(and if it's cold take the subway, i guess) Previous Day :: Next Day |
