Previous Day :: Next DayNatalie Waterworth (Brophy): Hi Dave,
Yes I lived on Farnham Drive ( off Broadway). Mum and dad had the end shop ( Brophys bakery)( I think we employed nearly everyone in Irlam over the years, and we sold the best bread, cakes and pies for miles around) and the second one in as... Natalie Waterworth (Brophy): Hi D,
My family had the bakery for over 10 years, and the shop next door which we sold and it became peters boutique. When we were there on 20 row, we had Tommy Wrench butchers. Culshaws newsagents. Platts Tv shop ( I think it was called) Lowndes grocers... waynemoriarty: Thank you so much for this. I, too, grew up in Benny Farm. 6530 Monkland, I believe. It was a wonderful place to live in the 60s. An amazing community within a community. There was this security officer named Percy, who we called Percy Kidpester. He used to walk around... groovehouse: What an amazing phenomena! I hope to see the Aurora Borealis one day! I am Puerto Rican, and Really Angry at your Lack of Concern and Knowledge:: I have attended various universities in both Chicago and Puerto Rico. I am currently a student at the University of Puerto Rico, and at one point I was Trying to recieve my BA from Northeastern Illinois University. Although I was fully born and raised icago, within the Humboldt Park... groovehouse: Alas, this tree was felled by "professionals" and I use that term loosely. They cut down the whole tree and grinded the stump to make way for a driveway for one of the condos. Shame on them for killing a once beautiful tree. colavitos ghost: that dilapidated shack was known as the "bum mansion" or the "bum palace" or something like that because it was home to a lot of homeless guys. it was recently demolished, apparently to keep away the undersirables that had inhabited it. jeeff: they must serve up a musical feast. colavitos ghost: i don't think groove is a record store; doesn't that awning say "restaurant" on it? DAVE:
Hi Andy
Here is another old photo of the old C.W.S soap works
jack: REMINDS ME A LITTLE OF SOUTH HUNTINGTON. NICE jack: AM I LOOKING UP OR ARE THEY LOOKING DOWN, THE COLD HARD WIRES, BRANCHES, EMPTY NEST WHERE ONCE BABIES WAITED FOR THEIR MOTHER TO FEED THEM, WHERE ONCE THE SUN SHONE AND THE WARM AIR FLOWED AND NOW LONLINESS AND GLOOM. Guy McLaren: Actually our Guys play soccer, but its not a national histeria like rugby and cricket at least not in my circles. American Football is something different. Besides Bafana Bafana are not real contenders. little ukraine: it's too bad this graveyard isn't where the ghost of grandin lives! love that second shot feetinyourface: you capture the light very well. lovely. aer: no problem, was just confused a bit. Keith Berks formally of Leicestershire: I recieved a triple Gouranga via text messaging and it seems to have sucked me in, in a very pleasant way, it may achieve something succesive governments have not in traffic conditions that are now an everyday occurance!

little ukraine: hello, jack's daughter, and welcome! congrats on the recent master's degree. we seem to share similar feelings for the library. as for my personal opinion, i think it would be best to say the building grew on me after four years. by the time i left... jack: i would say it is the moon. Biff: This is fantastic! Great shots... Adriana: Just was wondering about the picture, walked in, had an excellent cappuccino... nice, ride on !
