Previous Day :: Next Daydrea: Great pictures once again. I like the shot with the CN Tower between the two buildings. sine: host++ drea: No..lol..I did it the day after 12:05:45 on 04/06/06. (I don't think it's the exact time bt it's accurate) Tamara: It is true that Canada get snow, as do many countries. But I'd like to think that Canada is way more than cold weather and snow storms. Most Canadian would be unable to handle the weather we have up north, which is why the southern part of the country is... Oscar: keep on doing the good job: no board, no bike, no ball, just your body and the concrete jungle... I'm too old for this, but I've done my share. It didn't have a name and we didn't have cameras filming us and no technique such as yours, just instinct,... Oscar: NYPD: new yucky polluting device? jack: is drea's room in there. drea: LOL I ABSOLUTELY LUV THE SIGN!
I think I need one of those for my room. Although you all should be happy to know, that I have started cleaning my room today.
(Valium for you? Tequila for me!) elaine: i like the actress whose dress caught fire best, but i am not surprised at the popularity of lunatic woman... ;-D
i don't think i was being particularly selective, heroic domestic things could only really be about drowning or being on fire, pretty much. being run over by a train would... Elicar:
The sign says "CONDEMNED" This room is unfit for Human Habitation
;} Oscar: does it have wheels? reece anderson: BRIDGETON LOYALISTS FLUTE BAND NO#1 MON THE WOMBLES FUCK THE POPE Oscar: it's definitely upside down as you can see from the larger curl in the S... so it's more of the ass... pretty. GGP: these birds go through so much to survive; it's amazing they make it at all, esp. these days.
on a chirpier note, I have reason to believe a mourning dove is nesting on the sill beneath my air conditioner. the cooing gets amplified in a really funny, wonderful way through the... Elicar: Just for the record Drea, my shambles is not the same as your shambles. I would need to take Valium to be able to relax, much more to sleep in your room! ;) kc: Thanks, and thanks for reminding me of this post. I just got my Certificate of Appreciation for calling in that bird last week. A very sad document, somehow. Indeed a common tern, banded on July 5, 2005, at a time when it was still "too young to fly." That was... GGP: we were on the same snowy wavelength today, jack. love that pink tree. is it a cherry? so delicate, hesitant. Oscar: Go Banksy... I like the "at any time, at any time, xcept Sun" caption. Oscar: Could be used in those NHS adverts against salt. Oscar: I've hear that part of my council taxes went on "art"... now I see. Oscar: People say that you can't walk in LA; you've got to drive. I lived there for about 4 months in 2001, without a car... I found it very enjoyable to walk around actually, especially at dusk or early morning. Nice pics. Tyfoid Kid: Does that mean you were awake for 01:02:03 on 04/05/06 paying your bills? Peter: i lihe the photo, and even moreso, your calendar! drea: lol...well it's more like 5 minutes past due, but the title presently kinda goes with the picture. Peter: yep, id just come from the bridge... jack: were you just coming from the bridge? it looks like it. on the right on that street there was a funeral parlor my wife's cousin owned. i took my wife on a date once to the hamilton house down there for lobsters. drea: oh also jack...do you wanna clean up my room for me then? lol drea: hey man! on my defense: 4 exams, 5 days of work, 2 10page essays, 20 hours of sleep in total...the room could be worse! lol
And your welcome Elicar, good to know there's someone out there who shares my shambles. It gives for good pictures though don't you think?
Lol..yeah, i like... Elicar: Hmm..strange tile work..."Eat our American Fried Chicken and you'd be blessed...walking around with a visible halo over your head!" Peter: jack: great shots! im so glad youre posting your photos here... i'm always excited to see your shots and hear your stories.
the shot of the plane in midair is nice, too. i live right under that flight-path. my cellphone often gets disconnected when large jets fly over. jack: and bugs, holy cow even in the army in the field i was cleaner than that. jack: boy oh boy if your mom ever saw this she would run over there and straighten out that mess, young person. i feel like i want to clean up your room. i'm almost as bad as that television character, 'monk'. cant handle clutter or anyone near me... Elicar: Gee...Thanks Drea! I was so stressed out for 5 weeks bedinning mid-Feb. as I was putting 60 hours (I got greedy!)at work before fiscal year end and my home was in shambles. I guess looking at someone else's room makes me think, "Naah! it was not too bad!" jack: peter i love that neighborhood. i miss all the stores within a few walking blocks. out here you have to drive to a mall. but i love anerican fried chicken, much better than french or british fried chicken. you see the chickens here in america speak... Peter: i love the rusty stain on the ground below the rusty ventilation duct... jack: great ghosts of brooklyn, i took some shots myself. nice to see different between cities and yet in the snow it looks the same, all white spots. Peter: heh. i like the next-to-last photo... drea: Wow...I luv this!!! I enjoyed each picture, especialy the one with the butterflies, great shots! Peter: i think it looks like popcorn, especially in that 5th photo... Peter: id need a MONSTER SCOOTER to pull that off! EvilGentleman: I wish I could say I give a crap, but it is prohibited here. ;-) EvilGentleman: Ironically, the Great Lakes - Saint Lawrence Valley corridor in Canada, where 60% of Canada's population lives, including the cities of Windsor, Toronto, Ottawa, Montreal and Quebec City, gets most of its cold wintry weather from the American midwest. The air masses in question would actually move from Alaska to... jeeff: funny how snow looks kind of dirty when you freeze-frame it against the sky. GGP: I guess you could solve the problem by riding straight down the middle! GGP: that's what it is!! no wonder I loved it so! SQUEEK! Elicar: Before we get into fist fights, hair pulling and mud slinging in here, the 2004 Protection and Advocacy for Individuals with Mental Illness (PAIMI) Report for NY State states that they served 3,165 clients, 1636 men and 1529 women. www.mentalhealth.samhsa.gov/medi . . . IMI2004/PAIMI_2004_NY.pdf
In Ontario, "##Men commit suicide at a rate four times higher... yourniecejen: I like this one the best and it does remind me of a doorway to a mouse house. Peter: pretty much my exact thoughts, ggp :) GGP: maybe it's the weather, but this evokes Frost:
Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth.
Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the... Elicar: Send it over Jack! We really did not have much of a snow in Toronto this winter. The last time I remember having really too much snow was when Mayor Mel Lastman called in the army (400 of them) in 1999. cbc.ca/cgi-bin/templates/view.cg . . . ews/1999/01/14/snow990114. Of course he got a lot of flak... Peter: i did indeeed notice it the first time... thus my noticing it straight-away the second :) definitely wins the "funniest signage" award! drea: I'm luving the first and last shot, especially the last shot. Good call Tamara. We didn't have that much snow here (Toronto), thank goodness! lol EvilGentleman: My cousin Bradley Phillips died in the early 1980's while saving the lives of two men who drove their car into the Saint Lawrence Seaway. Even though Bradley was a not a strong swimmer, He managed to save the first one, but when he returned for the second, the man... Tamara: I love the last shot.. it's beautiful.
Looks like you had more snow in NY than we do here in TO... Tamara: LOL ... Jack~ I assure you we don't drive our dog sleds to and from work, snow and cold weather is simply not a canadian thing, though it cold at times.
Infact it snows more in US snowbelt than it does in this city. We had a great sunny day... EvilGentleman: Then you will like this post. I guess you must have missed it the first time around. jack: great shot peter. beleive me when i say i took some shots from the brooklyn side and i will upload soon. Jamie: heh, i love stuff like this. perhaps i'm autistic Peter: the ever changing no parking sign:
GGP: i haven't seen any pet bird stickers around lately...perhaps with the advent of spring they'll reappear. I miss them! no1def: nice posters shity tags no1def: i just gotta say fuck kbt and i saw that epc has been going over normel and baler... and i did somthin about it... I-95 wall before ives dairy exit, trailer park, oh and any one want to go over erocs? put smok in front of it, get him... no1def: crazy ass style, makes my brain feel like scrambled eggs... GGP: whoa! this rocks. "saved a lunatic woman..." now THAT's something to be proud of. Peter: yay bbg photos! en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bernd_and_Hilla_Becher

images.google.com/images?hl=en&l . . . r&btnG=Search&sa=N&tab=wi Peter: ahh photo-taking walks. nice! these are some good views of toronto, especially... it helped me put lots of the more close-up shots ive seen on here into perspective... Peter: i, for one, like the "no-pooping" sign in the second photo :) Peter: wow, what a comprehensive entry, eg! it sure tells a story.
i tried to take some similar shots of some very aggressive cops in front of newark penn station (issuing tickets to people parked in no-standing zones), and was stymied by one officer...
i guess he didnt want me snapping photos of... Peter: wow, what a great find, elaine. seriosuly, something id never know about otherwise. its odd how matter-of-factly some of these obituaries were worded. i was checking out the above link, and found a rather deadpan one:
##"...Robert Wright, police constable of Croydon. Entered a burning house to save a woman knowing... Jamie: perhaps. what i find most interesting is that most of these people caught fire in someway before dying. or perhaps elaine was being selective. Tamara: I believe women could say the same thing about most men! But then again perhaps lunatic is too modest a word.... kc: Ha! Thanks for the tips, J, E. Jamie: i like that fact that Frederick Alfred Croft saved a lunatic woman before he snuffed it. Lunatic. A charge that could arguably be leveled at most women? elaine: nice! i forgot about that one. Elicar: Obviously, I went with my girlfriend, duh! Elicar: In 1998, I was working at Bay and Elm. A girlfriend of mine went for a walk and saw a man who appeared to be homeless picking the lock of a bike in front of a pub (the name escapes me right now). The gave away was a rolled up... tecs: (kid with crayons) very good description of the style that aroe uses that i ever heard like it, living just down the road from aroe means i tend to see alot of his work and in the last few years have grown up trying his style of graffiti is not... Jamie: lol @ jeeff
nice photos urbanghost Jamie: i might have said this before but i like how brooklyn looks like simcity EvilGentleman: My great-grandfather fell to his death while working on the construction of the Terminal tower in November of 1929. He actually lived for five minutes after falling, long enough for his son (my great uncle) to get down from the top (they were working together) and have a last conversation... Jamie: Lascaux EvilGentleman: I believe the itinerary of border crossings on my trip went something like this:
By Airline: Nunavut, Manitoba
By Greyhound: Manitoba, Ontario, Quebec
By 1999 Pontiac Grand Prix from Avis: Quebec, Vermont, Quebec, Vermont, New Hampshire, Maine, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut, New York, Staten Island (ha ha, I know it's not... SCAM28: re: does graff require spraypaint....
I'm from Berlin, Germany and it's pretty normal here that people do large blockbuster bombings with paint and paint rolls and then usually use spraypaint for the outline, but not always... EvilGentleman: As far as homelessness among the wealth goes, I think I may have already mentioned in some other post my experience of seeing a homeless man sleeping in the glass and chrome entrance of a Beverly Hills Mercedes dealership. Quite the stark contrast, but reality cannot be escaped, no matter... EvilGentleman: When I was 12, I lived in Cornwall, Ontario. I remember locking my bike up and going into the local Mac's Milk convenience store, and when I came out, my bike was still there, but some smartass had stolen my lock! I guess my bike was not worth stealing.
And in... EvilGentleman: Actually, I think the blackness of the snow depends on the quality of the pavement it was scraped off of, among other factors. This is the parking lot of the office building complex where my wife works. The road that this parking lot exits onto has a shortcut to the... elaine: i see your pompeii, and raise you cave painting, granted, not lettering, but still... www.culture.gouv.fr/culture/arcnat/lascaux/en/ shawn.: i guess if you want to look at it that way...though the technical term for the Fremont is a "Tied Arch Bridge". jeeff: i used to work at the beer store at markham & queen, near photo 1. ahh the memories.. of having beer bottles chucked at my head. GGP: what the?

S: I recognized the neighborhood as soon as I saw the pictures. You should have had your camera over at the McDonalds a few months ago when Ashley Simpson was putting on a show there (and I don't mean a concert). Apparently she was drunk and was acting quite...
