Previous Day :: Next Day

Peter: yeah i got a lca years ago from a russian woman i used to work with for like $35... dont use it alot anymore as i do mostly digi now, but its fun at times... i think the cmeha35's are absolutely rad, too... and zorkis. i love those old weird...

in response to A Walk Through Brick City

Jamie: Gibraltar is a remarkablly antiquated outpost. A tiny piece of the uk tacked onto the arse end of spain. The last vestige of a long lost empire. It has a crazy border situation, the spanish are really pissy about the whole situation and quite rightly so in my opinion. On...

in response to The Captain

Jamie: Peter has (had) a lomo lca. They rule but are expensive. I could never afford one and made do with a lowly smena 35 which was still pretty cool though. Peter, glad you like my recent writing. It has once again been buried under the mountain of other good stuff...

in response to A Walk Through Brick City

Peter: totally.

in response to day trip

Peter: cool story... wow, now i gotta go google chislehurst!

in response to hideoms

elaine: Yeah, man, it's a post code. East 1. Did you know where ALL post codes come from? it was during the air raids in WW2 and people were sleeping in this old mine called chislehurst caves in hundreds of bunk beds, and it was the way people found their bunks...

in response to hideoms

elaine: we are attracted to our metaphors, are we not?

in response to day trip

Peter: ahh, the profundity of urban decay as an allegory for the human condition...

in response to day trip

elaine: thanks dawn, I've tried to do something more personal with the new 'eye' posting

in response to day trip

Peter: hahaha! this is great! thats a funny idea... totally unique photos that cracked me up. i love how you put the rhino-headed one over the ecko rhino sticker :) also: what does the "E1" in brick lane E1 mean? is that like a district of london or something?

in response to hideoms

dawn: Re: day trip. There's something really sad about these images, like the backbone collapsing(the back collapsing). Structures not able to hold themselves up. A kind of dereliction of the body(ies). You should write more on this. It has a strong sense of loss, and transition. Possible transformation to the new....

in response to day trip

elaine: i just posted the most embarrassing pictures to date, surely (hideoms)

in response to An Alley in the 900 Block of Linden

elaine: well I'm liking the lomo reference, and saving yourself the trouble joining the lomo set (and the money) but then I also like the idea of lo tec hi tec, which cameraphones kind of are by default. I do of course like having a zoom on my 'real' camera, but...

in response to A Walk Through Brick City

Peter: sort of! though i was going more for "lomo-esque", hehehhee.

in response to A Walk Through Brick City

elaine: god, I really hadn't thought about it being real in any way - just goes to show how toys can stand in for people omygod i gotta post some to pics - wait!

in response to An Alley in the 900 Block of Linden

elaine: sounds good to me!

in response to Gulf Oil Building

elaine: like a digital version of a pinhole camera, maybe?

in response to A Walk Through Brick City

turniprose: wow gwen stefani sure is hot. its a shame shes off the market now. thoug hfat chance an average bloke like me would ever have a shot at a woman like that. but i can still look, yeah? and i think i will. thanks for the exclusive closeup photos.

in response to gwen stefani's wedding

Peter: interesting story, man. additionally, i wanna vacation in gibraltar now...

in response to The Captain

Peter: your recent writing seems good to me!

in response to A Walk Through Brick City

Jamie: Tori Spelling!!

in response to A Walk Through Brick City

Jamie: Kelsey! Swept goddamit. Swept! Man, my eloquence has taken a kick in the balls. I say down to write last night. I sat there with my laptop in my lap for a whole hour, finally i wrote one word on my screen. Cohesion.

in response to A Walk Through Brick City

Jamie: Yeh, it was really interesting to hear about the vacant lots. Made me think of the people that must once have lived there. Whole communities sweeped under the carpet. Post apocalyptic imagery

in response to A Walk Through Brick City

Peter: creepy neogothic negative-exposed heaven!

in response to Gulf Oil Building

Peter: yeah, it totally looks like the edges of a tornado path.

in response to An Alley in the 900 Block of Linden

Peter: kelsey, heh! yeah, the strange reddish and purplish hues come from the cameraphone... i installed a hack to get better saturation (think: lomo-like cameraphone!) which, though drastically improving the resolution/saturation of the photos, causes those hues. but you know? i actually like em. i think it makes the photos look like...

in response to A Walk Through Brick City

Jamie: check my kelsey! ha

in response to A Walk Through Brick City

Jamie: i'm enjoying the purple hue of these photos peter. i found your article really interesting to read through, and i particularly like the way your linked in some other relevant newark posts. best of.

Roman Gorbenko: My, how such things do happen in Austria.

in response to Street Drama

Roman Gorbenko: I wonder if the goo is from the sewage?

in response to Sewage and Salt and Such

Roman Gorbenko: Some say this is for a criminal, some will say it is a fine work of art. I will say that, to me, it is both, and each element does boost the other, the criminal being elevated, the art being grounded and all existing in a very lovely balance.

in response to Graf Trainz 2: South-East London: Aroe

Roman Gorbenko: it looks to me like a great wind has blown and taken a way all the people so quickly.

in response to An Alley in the 900 Block of Linden

Roman Gorbenko: I am glad you do like my photograph, Sine. I shall make a nother, post then, of a nother photograph of my Ukraine. And to Peter, I do a gree that this photograph does look as if it had been a bad sleeping vision with no people and only black...

in response to Dead Boat

elaine: but it is funny, though. and the angle is everything. I'm sorry for the mouse

in response to An Alley in the 900 Block of Linden

Peter: wow, even the face on teh stuffed animal looks forlorn.

in response to An Alley in the 900 Block of Linden

Peter: loving the trains...

in response to Surreal City

Jamie: ChEcK dA GrAf tRaiNz

in response to Graf Trux 8: NYC

Translation: For those not familiar with British slang, here is a translation guide (into us english) 1. Bollock = Testicle 2. Wanker = One who wanks (masturbates) - Disparaging term used in much the same way as "Jerk" or "Asshole" 3. Gary = Gary Glitter = Shitter = Ass (contemporary rhyming slang)

in response to Chinese New Year

elaine: must keep the goo safe. fab shots, very atmospheric. suddenly the lone word 'rapid' brings to mind something more outdoorsy and clean... which just makes the shot all the more claustrophoblc

in response to Sewage and Salt and Such

elaine: eloquent - perfect use of the form

in response to halifax 6

Hey: Post them!

in response to Surreal City
