I locked out myself out, not once, but twice. My door automatically locks when it is closed. It was the second locksmith who taught me how to disable it. DUH! $200 later. I wonder if I had called 911, I would have gotten the same response.
Unfortunately, there is a... Elicar: Hey, it shows passion! That's a good thing! Besides, you are one of the lucky ones who has worked and lived somewhere else other that this country of ours full of stalkers (sorry, I couldn't resist!). You have a better appreciation and perspective than most.
Yes, there's a whole wide world... ru Yuk: lick me hom bun: nuk yu mikka GGP: yeah, groovehouse, there is a high correlation between cruelty to animals and violence against human beings; witness the entire human society. john malcolm: bridgeton loyalist flute band no1 uda uff uym blfb ftp mon the wombles Catherine Penfold-Waxman: a hot dog, Jeeff? Catherine Penfold-Waxman: I'm sorry it wasn't street art (as questionable as a fake cat-in-an-icecube would be).
jeeff: i'm eating meat right now. groovehouse: "most serial killers start off by torturing and killing animals" -- as told to me by the local police department after my cat was shot once in the jaw and once in the neck and survived! jeeff: yeah, pet peeve i'll admit. i just don't see why people are so willing to define themselves by a set of national cliches. there's a whole wide world out there! chiamattt: what happened? didn't you stay and watch it melt? That would have been proper. colavito's ghost: nice bike path! wish i could ride that on my way down from harlem every morning...
i guess life wouldn't be quite as exciting, but it sure wouldn't be as threatened, either. colavito's ghost: Peter, just curious if you'd be willing to tell us what your punishment your "acquaintance" received for his/her heroism.
Last year I got nabbed by an undercover graffiti cop for putting up paste-ups on the lower east side. I was lucky enough to get away with a warning, but he... GGP: a bit wicked witch of the west, eh?
it looked pretty real...not ketchup, alas. Catherine Penfold-Waxman: What puts me off my horse steak is those horrific eighties boots with green laces. That's a hate crime. Catherine Penfold-Waxman: I eat meat. And under the right circumstances, I'd eat a cat.
However, this grisly cat-sicle in Union Square smacks of someone being fiendishly unbalanced. If it isn't a fake cat and ketchup.
hool: if you find this abhorrent, ask yourself, do you eat meat? GGP: I think it was somewhat nervous, uncomfortable laughter but yes, it certainly didn't make me want to laugh. Brad: Wow, that's so screwed up. The people standing around laughing (at least some appear to be) are idiots. eliton maximo: !!!!!!!!atenção!!!!!!!
Catherine Penfold-Waxman:
I've been meaning to post this on the lunch/food/fries thread. This is a chopped liver and pastrami on rye sandwich from Arties (Broadway and 83rd street). Note the Dr. Brown's cream soda and coleslaw, the perfect match for the sandwich. And it's not your imagination, this sandwich really is about... lossloh1*northtown vegas: and i hot some ja flix from vegas im a post them soon peace lossloh1*northtown vegas: fuck it though big ups to everyone who still paints ja is a legend and so is saber and cope and swoel in vegas peace Elicar: Wow, someone got a rise out of Jeeff!
Jenna: supercool, I need to get me up that high! Tamara: cerniagigante ~ that's such a nice thought! I knew that some persian carpets are representations of gardens, but I guess the next time I'm there I'll take advantage of sharing some secrets too.
That shot was taken in a carpet factory in Agra, the women are doing the trimming and... a'la: "Draconian" indeed. Geezuz! I thought NYC was supposed to be a liberal haven for the arts? Not to mention, the birthplace of graffiti. Wow. Samantha Hahn www.samanthahahn.com: I love how stark these are, they're almost abstract. Nice composition and use of negative space too. You are not only a fabulous teacher but also a fabulous artist! Lucky lady! Myke: that's freaking awesome. Oleg: Tamara - I wish I knew ) drea: WOW! Undies! That's awesome! lol drea: i really like the 2nd picture. The colours are great! go orange and red and blue! Catherine Penfold-Waxman: I love this series. The second shot is magic. The Magritte in the background and the woman wearing the mask, like she's afraid of catching bugs with bowler hats. Michelle: I see that graffiti quite often when I take the SRT and subway downtown from Scarborough. Good job photographing it! jeeff: what on earth does stalking have to do with being canadian? life isn't all about being canadian (especially on a website where people from all around the world gather). is it too much to ask that patriotism be expressed as a quiet confidence rather than a blaring donkey... jeeff: carltan - take picture of what you want, don't ask for requests. jeeff: so carltan, you're basically saying that you're.. racist? Editor: i've combined your three entries into one. it's true that pet photos have been posted on citynoise from time to time, but really this isn't the focus of the site unless the photos give us some sort of context about your life, your environment, your city, etc. elicar's... johnintokyo: gah! i shoot all the time BUT those shots made me wanna grab my camera and run out the door. Truly amazing stuff. Did you print the B&W yourself? Where do you get your stuff done? Inspiring! anon (p54907093.dip.t-dialin.net): I think I'll make a comment on this graffiti here on the picture and then to this forum conversation. There's nothing really special about it. This is the kind of graffiti you get in every city. Just plain black and white, and spreading the a message of hate towards a... GGP: what an amazing array of styles. very nice series. the third one is a knock-out! GGP: i think these are great and that pugs rule. Tyfoid Kid: Woof. Dogs live in the city just like us people. John: This is one of the most beautiful cities of Europe. Definitely. Get out of your car, buddy: Metaphorical. I was thinking that was a lot of kms for someone to put on their bike, and to be riding around Markham. Didn't seem sane to me. Turns out it was your car, so it all makes sense now.
Also, I like to tease anyone that lives... Norberto Davino Santorio: Ustedes hijos de su puta chingada madre, ni saben ya ni que poner. Por eso el mundo esta chingado como esta porque no se pueden poner de acuerdo un al otro. GGP: the one next to its left is very chas addams... Elicar: That's a little bit extreme, Guy, don't you think? Isn't freedom all about choices? If smokers choose to self-destruct, let them be. They are harming only themselves and those who choose to stay around and inhale their second hand smoke.
Here in Toronto, there's practically no enclosed public place where... anon: This post makes me want to go back to India... thanks
