On the corner near the bodega, this morning, a homeless man had camped out for the day. Ironically, he chose to rest in the shade of the red-and-white clothing donation box.

This is the Manhattan-bound platform of the Brooklyn Museum/Eastern Parkway 2/3 subway line. Eastern Parkway lies atop the station, and it exits right in front of the Brooklyn Museum. The Brooklyn Botanic Garden is also at this stop...
Many subway stations have lovely old mosaics proclaiming the stop... most of these were done in the old days, 1900-1930s, before the MTA became such a profit-hungry, cost-cutting bureaucracy...

A NYPD cruiser which, ironically, is parked both in a cross-walk and in a fire-zone... if I parked there, I would get a $75 ticket and most likely towed away, but as they say, cops are above the law.
