Parkour este foarte simplu deplasarea fluida de la un punc A catre un punct B.
Tot ceea ce opreste miscarea si nu adauga viteza sau eficienta miscarii nu este considerat parkour.
Parkour mai este cunoscut si ca "arta miscarii" (l'art du deplacement) deoarece fiecare miscare trebuie sa fie gratioasa, sa existe un echilibru intre elemente iar traseul pe care il faci este o alegere personala in care poti sa iti exerciti toata creativitatea, abilitatea de improvizatie modul in care te misti fiind o expresie a starii tale interioare; astfel parkour este si o modalitate de exprimare ca nici o alta.
