 I noticed the wind was swirling the snow around the entrance to my building this afternoon.

 The city of Dorval, the Montreal suburb where I live, has a rather clear way of getting points across. I dunno how I could have missed taking this shot earlier, the view is from the end of the walkway to my door. Guess one gets used to things so they seem normal. These signs are all over my neighbourhood.

 I was going down the escalator after an exam tonight, and when I reached the second floor, I found this sign waiting for me. Reggie's is the bar in Concordia University's Hall Building, on the second floor. I thought it was pretty cheesy signage, but I wondered how many people it attracted yesterday.

 The igloo being built here has spawned a few questions from the curious, so I decided to post a different page to show more pictures of the process.
The proper snow is needed, and the cutting must be done right

The window in the side. This window is not really practical for looking through, but it does let light inside. It is made of a piece of river ice formed to fit in among the snow blocks

 My hometown of Kahnawake has a proud tradition of ironwork dating back through the last century and a half, with many famous landmarks being part of the local heritage. Men from Kahnawake were on the workcrews that built many of the highest buildings, as Mohawks are renowned for their ability to work normally at extreme heights. My grandmother showed me pictures of her cousin posing at the top of the Empire State Building as the building was topped out.
