It was a family-owned businss, started in the 1950's by Kaplan's father-in-law. There was also a Dubrow's Cafeteria on King's Highway in Brooklyn, and one on the Eastern Parkway in Brooklyn. They seem to represent a different day and age, when people were encouraged to go out, sit around and drink coffee, and schmooze for hours and hours, without every buying much.
