Caught in a Storm

author: Elicar : Manila, Philippines

Driving around Manila could be a nightmare for anybody even for those who drive regulary there. A 15-kilometer distance takes about one hour to drive during rush hour. And rush hour is from 6:00 AM - 9:00 PM. Traffic gets from really bad to worst when there is a downpour. Drainage is bad, so a 30 minute downpour could cause flash floods. This was what I get caught in. This is what you get when you go there during wet season. And the sky cleared up as quickly as it got dark! Total distance covered in this series of pictures: perhaps 5...

It Is Sooo Nice to Be Missed

author: Elicar : Toronto, ON

Hello everyone! I am still alive. I am currently in the Philippines, bored out of my wits as the China leg to this trip was canceled. I was fooling around with my nieces and decided to search for a picture of my office building to show them. The first picture I found was a picture I posted here. Strange. It must be an omen. So, for the next hour or so, I was showing them my postings from almost two years ago. Then, I decided to go look at the comments. Evil G, Joey, you are sooo sweet! I see that the...

Black Bird

To paraphrase the Beatles…”Black bird singing in the light of day." The weather has been great, so I have busied myself in my backyard: cleaning, replacing the perennials that did not survive the winter and adding some more. I had this bird for a company two days in a row: perched on my neighbour’s telephone line and my other neighbour’s the old TV antennae. Is that an omen? There’s a skull in the sky. And cottons too. Some overweight wrens. I think the he is trying to tell me something. I might as well include my spring flowers.

Spring Midday Sun

Finding myself by the pool where I took the An Experiment, I thought of experimenting on the sun's reflection. I haven't posted any of my vertiginous pictures in awhile, so, I thought it's about time.

...for this site, that is! These pictures were taken at the northeast corner of Bay and Front Streets today at around 1 PM during a scene filming of the upcoming TV series, Angela's Eyes. web link. This street corner was transformed to simulate a street of New York City for three hours. It is a lot cheaper to film in Toronto than NYC, so, don't be disappointed if all those NYC movies and TV programs you enjoy so much were actually filmed here. I did not walk through the set though for fear of being discovered. :)
