Pickled snakes are commonly found preserved animals in Asia, and put inside alcoholic drinks.
The snakes, preferably venomous ones, are usually not preserved for their meat. They are preserved to have the snake poison dissolved in the liquor. However, because snake venoms are protein-based, they do not dissolve well in water and alcohol, and thus the preserved snake does not actually contribute venom to the drink.
