Oldskool Coke Machine
Browsing articles by Peter - [previous] :: [next]
I passed this abandoned-looking oldskool Coke machine in Seattle... it's price still read 55 cents and it looked like it hadn't dispensed a soda in at least a decade... This article has been viewed 719 times in the last 7 weeks Peter: 27th Mar 2008 - 17:42 GMTi suppose it is. my bad for not properly labeling each and every element of the photo. though i must admit, i see many of those sorts of payphones around... the coke machine, not so much... Jason: 28th Mar 2008 - 21:34 GMTi've lived in seattle since '92, and - to my knowledge - that coke machine has been there since then. question: did you try to buy a can? Peter: 28th Mar 2008 - 22:50 GMTany specifics on where its located? im not terribly familiar with seattle, as this was my first trip there, but yeah... the machine was long-since dead... not plugged in, totally non-operational. just a lump of steel waiting to get photographed and put on the internet, hahaha... i wouldnt be surprised if that coke machine hadnt vended a coke since the early 90s... even the old soda logos on the push-buttons looked almost antiquated...
POWcityblog: 2nd Apr 2008 - 18:23 GMTThat machine is secured pretty well for something abandoned - coupla padlocks and a bracket. It probably is in use & gets hydro from the same line as the phone. POWcityblog: 3rd Apr 2008 - 04:59 GMTHydroelectricity - a short form from the 19th century. I probably shouldn't use it. Also, there isn't much graff on the coke machine, less than you'd find on something truly abandoned. Someone is cleaning that machine. emeleef: 3rd Apr 2008 - 16:26 GMTHey, I'm sitting here in the UK, so it's a bit out of my zone so will someone PLEASE try and buy a coke from that thing!!!!
