Coney Island, Stillwell Avenue Station

peter you bring tears to my eyes, the old brooklyn-manhattan transit, the sea beach express, the f train and others, i rode them almost everyday, i would walk to school and pass under the el at 86th street and i couldn't make it to lafayette school, i had to play hookie and go to coney, when you got out of that station to the right across the street was the old movie theatre and next to it in the office building was the selective service board where every young man went to when he turned 18, and across surf avenue at 1:00 o'clock was nathans and up the street to stauch's bath house where my friend and i would sneak to peek into the womens section of the roof to see them sun bathing, and then out onto the beach, the dirty, stinking, smelly sand and waters where people would move their bowels while in the water up to their necks, the dirty stinking pigs, the smell of fried chicken wafting it's way down the boardwalk to your towel mingling in with suntan oil and french fries and the sea salty air and the bodies and sweating huge people trying to squeeze into the free water fountain to get a drink of water and there i was a skinny kid being crushed by all the big mama's in their black bathing suits with big, i mean, huge humango, magnifico breasts, and about two feet of cleavage that once i swore i saw a dead fish stuck in there, and they would hold me up by my ass with their other hand you know where, gently fondling my personal being and laughing as water splashed all over my face, it was coney island at its peak, hundreds of thousands of people, a mass of swealtering humanity, jumping up and down in the waves and eating, sleeping and making out on the sand. good grief, i miss it.!!!!!

What I enjoyed when I would get out of the F train was walking to Coney Island and seeing that little store on the left that sold Candy Apples, Big lollipops, Caramel corn, fudge, Salt water taffy. It was a kids dream come true. That's what I remembered about that station. YUM.
