I always get nervous someone will take offense. do you shoot these off the hip? I took some passerby candids in Brooklyn last weekend in "hool" style, to pay homage. I'll post them soon :) they're nowhere near as good as these..... hool: 23rd Sep 2007 - 17:31 GMTthanks all. serlingrod: i don't shoot from the hip these days, although i go through phases where i do that. it's too easy to let hip shooting become the default if you do it too much, it's far easier than the confrontation of shooting from the eye. some people say things, most people don't. i smile and say thanks, or nod and make eye contact, that's usually enough to diffuse the tension.
