haha! this is great! this is two blocks from my apartment! vz, you live at 20th & chestnut? if you look closely outside of Wawa you'll see a bike locked up on that rack by the bus shelter. that's my girlfriend's....the lock broke and her keys won't work so it's been sitting there all summer :( i read in this week's Philadelphia Weekly there's going to be a fringe festival performance about Wawa!

I'm actually just house-sitting for a friend.. but the fact that the bike's been there for that long without being stolen makes me feel better about locking mine up on that corner! Have you tried going to hardware stores or bike shops and asking if you can use their huge lock-cutters? Most have a pair, and if you can reasonably convince that the bike is indeed yours, you're good. I remember I once had a lock break when my bike was locked up at 4th and Fitzwater, it was the people from Via Bicycle who finally came out and helped me, they had serviced the bike before so they knew it was actually mine.
