Man, I remember it as the Soho Zat.
Then it was Soho Down and under or something like that..
But to me it's still the Soho Zat.
Got all my graff shit here back in the early 1990's.
Got robbed for my video camera by a dude with a butcher knife
back in 1993 on W. Broadway.
^^True story......

BILROCK-161, RTW.: 10th Dec 2007 - 18:21 GMT

I bugged out when I went in this place. The store would bug out any oldskool NYC. writer. The idea that you can openly purchase graf supplies to begin with is bugged. I still cannot get used to the idea of buying your paint!. But, then... those good ol'dayz are in the past. I pointed out an old pic of mine in can control(or one of those mags), the personnel couldnt believe it. Damn!!, am I really a friggin dinosaur.

graff king AAK: do they have fine line caps here?

Jess: 24th Dec 2007 - 01:15 GMT

Hey, I used to work at Soho Zat back in 1983. I loved it. They only hired punks. It was the coolest place to work - vintage comic books, porn, various sundries (all legal...), vintage clothes... We had so much fun doing the front window with skulls and chains and variousness. Those days are missed... New York is not the same any more...

ive never been id'd there. but then again... i aint no spring chicken.

jus: 3rd Jun 2008 - 02:34 GMT

scrap yard is pretty good. very small, but there's a lot you can buy. Toys from Kid Robot, Caps (3 for $1), markers (dalo, uni, deco, etc.), mops (do em dirty, molotow, on the run, krink), graffiti/tribal tees, dvds, and of course paint. all types of montana. I know i left stuff out, but that just goes to show that this store has good stuff.

Peter: 3rd Jun 2008 - 03:25 GMT

it is indeed a good store. many of their products are a bit on the pricy side ($10 for two ounces of , etc), but in all cases, you get a very good product, and you support a nyc graffiti institution of sorts, and you support your right to purchase art supplies without being a suspect... the paint isnt caged up, and they dont give you the third degree (quite the opposite) when you buy fat-tip drip markers and mops. i mean, i can get the same stuff from other writers or cheaper on some website, but i like ducking in there from time to time to pick up something specific (instant gratification is better than ordering from a website based in middle america), or to just see whats up. if youre into graffiti and happen to be around west broadway/canal, check it out. if nothing else, they do have some great art hanging in there.

cope 2: 11th Jun 2008 - 15:25 GMT

this store is the illest. i buy all my bombing supplies at this joint right here. its all about bombing the trains, remember that kids. 1
