This is the city where I live: São Paulo (Brazil). It's one of the biggest cities in the world (the third, more precesily). You're seeing it's centre. The Cathedral in the middle of the picture is called Cathedral of Sé (Sé is the same term Sedes, in portuguese, that happens in the eclesiastic expression Sancta Sedes, or Holy See, in english). The background of the picture points approximately in the south direction, my city extends for (more or less) 50 km in this direction.

Now you're seeing my city in its west direction, São Paulo extends for (more or less) 15 km in this direction.

An old observatory in São Paulo (it belonged to IAG, but no more). When it was constructed, the city was very far away; now the city surrounds it (the lights of the city make impossible to do good astronomical observations at this site)

The march of the modern diggers. I can't fully explain what the title of this post means. It was just a catchy phrase that jumped into my head while thinking about a title. I think it has something to do with...
