Montauk Manor
Browsing articles by Littleukraine - [previous] :: [next]On the eastern tip of the South Fork of Long Island, some 120 miles from Manhattan, lies the historic hamlet of Montauk.
High atop a hill just north of the village you will find Montauk Manor, purported by many to be haunted. I did not actually consider being inside a building. But this is a nice one. Did you stay here? little ukraine: 26th Jul 2007 - 20:45 GMTi did - it's crazy expensive, thankfully my fiancee's parents were paying the bill.
CartLegger: 27th Jul 2007 - 05:07 GMTYeah, man. I love my in-laws. I could post lots of the places they've gotten me into, from hotels to restaurants to b'way shows. Wise of you to marry in such a direction. And fun! I hope your partnership is a great one! My wife and I are headed out to Fire Island in august, but since the in-laws are not footing the bill this time, it will be in a tent, not a manor. PS: Its amazing the history of Ling Island. It developed at around the same time as NYC, only British--not Dutch. And East to West. I guess it just three hundred years for things to meet in the middle, at a cheesy strip mall outside Hicksville--or wherever. Andamuerte: 20th Aug 2008 - 12:21 GMTMy friend stayed there with his whole family. He didn't know anything about the supposed hauntings. Upon his return, I asked how they had liked it and was told that all night they kept waking up because they thought someone was coming into the room. They said the whole place gave them the creeps.
