Downton Columbus

- maybetoday - Saturday, July 14th, 2007 : goo

I recently visited family in Columbus, OH. I had a grand total of four hours to check out the city. I first headed downtown. I walked aimlessly around downtown taking pictures as I went along. I don't really know anything about Columbus, OH, though.

The city looks beautiful but... um, where is everybody?

maybetoday: 15th Jul 2007 - 04:22 GMT

These shots were taken on a Friday morning around 10am. It wasn't completely dead as there were some people walking around.

joey: 15th Jul 2007 - 06:15 GMT

columbus, ohio in july. the photos look kind of steamy. it was probably just too stinking hot outside.

little ukraine: 15th Jul 2007 - 23:00 GMT

i was hoping some of our ohio-ans could provide some commentary on these shots...

joey: 16th Jul 2007 - 04:44 GMT

i was only in columbus once. 1974 or 75. too drunk to remember much. except that ohio state buckeyes beat michigan that weekend. party.

colavitos ghost: 17th Jul 2007 - 04:29 GMT

that's funny, my biggest memory of columbus is also getting shitfaced for the ohio state-michigan game. buckeyes won that time as well.

it's embarassing, but i think this is the experience that many ohioans have had with columbus. seems nice, though.

joey: 19th Jan 2008 - 05:45 GMT

what about cincinnati, ohio. ever get shitfaced in cincinnati ?

colavitos ghost: 19th Jan 2008 - 16:20 GMT

i have family in anderson township (a west-side suburb of cinci), so i have spent a lot of time there. however, i've managed to stay relatively sober during most of my time there.

there was one time, though, when we were celebrating my grandpa's 75th birthday at my aunt and uncle's nice big suburban house in anderson. i drank one or two cocktails too many, then initiated a diving contest with my brother in the backyard pool. we got to doing some pretty radical stuff, but then, well.... let's just say i got a little too excited, and ended up with a badly bruised and bloody nose!

high street is great shopping. record shops, head shops, hookah bars, bars, OSU bookstores and chinesse food

brian: 13th Jun 2008 - 02:51 GMT

high street should be called long street. It's real long. columbus is pretty as far as i've seen
