A Walk Along The Embankment

. Discuss. Stencil on the back of a sign. I don't know what th sign is but it's probably one of those 'stick figure in peril' type signs urging us not to drown in the river.

The other side of the bridge, towards the river is untamed, spanned by rail bridges and cover in and strewn with peoples unwated crap, used needles and 'unsavoury characters'.

This side of the bridge though, the river is tamed with concrete and flanked by grassy open spaces and happy families.

And old boats.

i love old boats. especially boston whalers. i took a cruise to europe with 1000 soldiers, we slapt in hammocks four up to the top, stormy weather in north atlantic, guys were throwing up all over the place, i was ok, in their bunks they would throw up and the vomit would trickle down, (like our great economy) to the bottom bunk where i was, so i pulled the little guy out of his bunk and threw him into mine and i jumped into the top bunk and opened my bath bag which in army terms is called a diddy bag (i know not why) and opened my bottle of old spice after shave and dumped it into the bag and kept it on my face all night, the night of vomit, the next day all sick soldiers were eating or trying to eat and then threw up on their plates and as the ship rolled to each side the plates would pass to another soldier and he would throw up in it also, so i was working KP and the sailor, a real old crusty type merchant marine seaman, told me to use the fire hose to wash down all the vomit on the tables and walls. after awhile it was nice, no soldiers just me and some old seamen eating everything in the kitchen.

Peter: that boat is awesome!

I thought so. I took more photos but I had my new camera on full manual and i screwed up both the exposure and focus on all but two shots. Jack, that's a truly graphic story. You put me right there with your words. I always love reading your little stories and anecdotes here.
