sometimes Im supposed to be an architect, and that s when the role is to tell most of the wanderers that we are going to make it better and that change is good.
and that the buildings and places we see often are not supposed to be solid
and im mostly ok with that because its not often the project seems wrong
but this time
when i can count 10 cranes from my corner all wanting to add more than a few hundred condos each...
i think there are better blocks than this to tear down

What's happening in Seattle right now is bloody awful. You can see 10 cranes
(on Capital Hill I'm assuming), there are supposed to be something like 12 new condo sites in downtown alone this year, I see two new sites going up when I wait for the bus, and another new one after I get off the bus...some, if not all, of these condos are going to be insanely expensive and most likely very UGLY. Underwhelming and devoid of imagination, charm, character or ingenuity.
I'm not sure anyone's building housing for low or even middle income people in this town, wonder what's going to happen when we get priced out.
Ballard's next, I guess.
Oh. and yeah, there -are- better blocks to tear down.
