jamie: 21st Jan 2005 - 15:57 GMTtrying to get some updated firmware for my phone. the release version has quite poor camera quality especially in low light conditions. i'm told the latest revision is much better in comparison. we'll see. have created some php/gd code which allows for brightness/contrast and color balance to be performed on uploaded images :-) which may be handy for phonecam peeps steelisreal: 4th Mar 2005 - 03:38 GMTRe: World Trade Center Stop: Manhattan found out today that my sidekick 2 cam which is proper rubbish has a zoom, but they don.t list it in the manual, had to go on a forum. i am thinking about taking more pics with it they will be distorted just from the crappy built in camera. Peter: 4th Mar 2005 - 15:34 GMTsteelisreal: same thing with my treo 600. i dug around on a forum amd found a hacked replacement for the cam software that includes a zoom as well as the ability to remove dark pixels in low-light shots. after doing a little tweaking myself, im finally able to get the best possible pics out of my phone... though theyre still not great, as you can see above. i think im going to upgrade to the treo 650 soon, which has a phenomenal cam built in! my wife has one and im jealous, heh.
