I liked how the snow is only caught in the light shining up from the building. This article has been viewed 1796 times in the last 39 months jack: 1st Feb 2007 - 01:08 GMTthats how i knew if we would have the next day off from school. i would look through the wooden slats of my window and see the snow falling through the light off the corner lamp post. jack: 2nd Feb 2007 - 20:02 GMTi had to see this again and comment on the angles and corners of the buildings, the different colors, the look of the majesty of manhattan. almost looks like a lego setup. i loved this pic. Catherine Penfold-Waxman: 2nd Feb 2007 - 20:33 GMTIt's all about the angles. I walk around Manhattan snapping mental pictures. And when I can't take it any more, out comes the camera and I start taking real ones. New York is just so photogenic, even when it's an ugly scene. jack: 3rd Feb 2007 - 03:03 GMTfor advertising purposes when you look at an ad you come in on the upper left side of the picture, then your eyes travel down to the upper right, then the branches brings you to the left center the dark structure stops your eyes from running off the page and the angle of the lower building takes you out of the page to the right, so if you were selling something you would put your telephone number at the bottom right corner where all eyes would automatically go. ever notice when they make up an ad to sell to men they use a womens legs to take your eyes to the store's name and address. this weekend look at all the ads and you will see what i mean. this is called layout and design. Catherine Penfold-Waxman: 3rd Feb 2007 - 18:40 GMTzactly. And I work in advertising. Coincidence? (actually yes, I was really just looking at the snow in the light. Everything else fell into place) procyon: 3rd Feb 2007 - 21:06 GMTThat's weird... I feel like my eyes went straight to the vertex of the bronzish building in the very foreground.
