Cleveland from the Golden Hour on
[previous] :: [next]It seems like every time I remember to bring my (or my boyfriend's) camera when I go into the city, I end up in the same few square miles. This is obviously unfortunate, because I'd like to show Citynoise some of the less-documented Cleveland as well, but (a) RTA service from my parents' current suburb is pretty lacking and (b) it is a fun part of town to photograph...
As usual, some of these photos (particularly any with numbers or benchmarks prominently featured) are Nick's (aforementioned boyfriend).
The following three pictures are of the strangest monument (?) I've ever seen: a plaque about de Tocqueville visiting Cleveland set in what looks like the foundation of a very tiny building, covered in faded graf. Next to it are (poorly) fenced-off railroad tracks to nowhere, which a theoretically-existent person interested in swimming in that water could use as a convenient diving board, but my pictures of that (and of the plaque) are all blurry.
Finally, some Christmas decorations in Tower City and around Public Square. Admittedly, the former is looking a little deserted, but it was around 8PM on December 29th.

colavitos ghost: 28th Jan 2007 - 10:00 GMTthis *is* a fun part of town to photograph; and your shots bring out the best in it every time! thank you for this entry. i´ve been out of cleveland for a couple weeks and won´t be back for 6 months, so your photos are a much-needed reminder of home. colavitos ghost: 29th Jan 2007 - 00:49 GMThey procyon. not to get too personal, but would you mind divulging which non-rta-accessible suburb your parents currently call home? joey says today: 18th Mar 2007 - 00:07 GMTyou may have some fun looking at this web site. especially if you like old post cards www.rootsweb.com/~usgenweb/oh/cuyahoga/postcards/ppcs-cuyahoga.html
