there she was, playing her guitar and singing, she was like a nightingale, alone, we made eye contact and i winked and she smiled. she was a vision of the 60's, a wanderer, a street minstrel, a time, long ago, when my friend tommy and i walked the streets of the village, i almost saw my friend there for a second but my daughters baby brought me back to reality, to the reality that my friend was dead and i was a grandpa and as i gazed into my little ones eyes i forgot about my youth and i concentrated on her beauty and we walked away and i forgot to give her some money. i forgot to give the song bird in the park a couple of dollars for her singing, sorry for her and shame on me for dreaming.
