A Graveyard & A Playground

- ghostofgrandin - Monday, December 18th, 2006 : goo

last wednesday night was a particularly creepy night. i was annoyed that it was foggy because i had been promised a pretty spectacular geminid meteor shower. the came back on thursday night as well so i'll have to wait for the geminids, but january 4 should bring the quadrantid meteor shower. here's hoping.

in any case, i found myself near a and a (the brilliance of long island town planning!) and here are some shots i took.

weird and cool--i also like the second one best. the playground (or what i assume is the playground) looks like the lunar lander. are these from a camera phone, or was it just the fog doing that?

towards the end of my childhood my parents moved us from an area with all sorts of wonderful playgrounds within walking distance of our house to a nasty little suburb renowned in the greater Cleveland area for embodying every negative quality of suburbs in general. a year or so into living here i actually saw machines come by and rip down one of our relatively few playgrounds in order to clear way for a gargantuan new jail. blerrrghh to playgrounds getting the urban planning shaft.

ghost of grandin: not camera phone - just fog.

nice shots man! i grew up on long island, but it was never that creepy.
