the arcade looks beautiful! it is one place that i wanted to visit while in town but i did not have an opportunity.

is the arcade still that colorful? i haven't been there since the mid-90's but I seem to remember it looking much more dour.

joey: 22nd Nov 2006 - 01:15 GMT

i heard that one of the arcades was sold and made into a hotel. i doubt it looks as dreamy as this 1978 photograph. note the professional 126mm film format.

i was just in the arcade yesterday and yes, part of it has been converted into a hotel (a hyatt) and yes, it's just as beautiful today as it was in 1978. perhaps even better, since it's covered with holiday decorations.

i snapped a couple pictures with my friend's camera; hopefully i'll have them posted sometime soon.
